Default Engine code 22?

1989 Dodge Dynasty 3.0 liter , 6 cylinder Mitsubishi engine:

CEL gave code 22.
I researched internet and I am getting conflicting data as to what code 22 means.
Internet said : Intake Air Charge Temperature Sensor.
Local indy said that 22 was Coolant temperature is too high.
What is correct answer?

I am experiencing " crank with no start " sporadically.
Happened several times this winter with an extreme cold start condition--> Failed.
Today, immediate start up.
Yesterday , crank no start.

I believe that the IAT sensor resides on passenger side of engine near the MAP sensor and the plenum edge; it is set back deep into a hard to reach cavity.
It appears that there is a 2-wire connector that clips onto the IAT sensor.
Has anyone done the R/R of IAT?
What stuff has to be removed to access the IAT?

Will the code clear itself after the issue is resolved or do I have to disconnect the battery to erase the CEL code?

The CEL came on last week after vehicle went into closed loop.
I wiggled IAT sensor wires and sprayed area with brake cleaner to start investigation.
All seemed AOK today.Yet, still have code 22.

I get:

Coolant temperature sensor out of range

Which can certainly give you a no start condition. PCM will be feeding either too much, or not enough gas to get the engine to start. Plugging in with a scanner that can read data, and seeing what the PCM thinks engine temp is would be a good place to start.

Thank you : 22=CTS . Will check functionality of CTS.
I plan to ohm out CTS for proper changing resistance and plan to check for input reference voltage of about 5 volts IN , 2-3 volts OUT at operating temperature.
