Default P-Bodies Unite!

Let's have 'em people! The K forum is dead, I know there are more of you out there. There seems to only be two or so people that regularly post on this forum (myself and bassboy)

I know you can find something to discuss about your car, wether it be a mod idea that you want an opinion on, or maybe just a quick question about something general. I'm tired of being lonely on this forum. (sorry, I don't like vipers, or SRT-4's [it's still a neon to me ] Give me a Shadow or an Omni anyday, insurance is cheaper anyway. lol

.....Or a Mitsubishi 3.0 V6 Performance Section. Alot of the little tips and tricks to get more power out of the V6 are not common knowledge amongst the V6 "K" community... Though they should be.

Personally, my opinion of an automotive forum is that it should be a central location where enthusiasts of a specific type of car/truck/minivan, etc., help each other troubleshoot and otherwise improve performance of their cars.

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of that going on here in the "K" forum, but go have a look at the SRT-4 forum....

I have yet to see a single "how-to" thread on this site anywhere.... I plan on fixing that... Starting with my TBI - V6 swap. I will document it every step of the way, from removal of the donor car, to the final turn of the key upon completion.

The K's may be old, but certainly shold not be forgotten.... Our little "K" cars can easily be tuned to whip the snot out of any of the newer cars, for ALOT less money. (With the exception of the V6, of course.) I don't think I have to say anything more than this... "Relentless"

I'm still waiting to see a 10-second SRT-4 built for less than $20,000 (I know of one that has over 500hp to the wheels, but hasn't run it on the strip yet, and he has over $25,000 under the hood alone!!)

Imagine what a K could do with $25,000, LOL

Can we say stage 3 turbo with that kinda money? lol *BIG GRIN* My friend and I once drove a (i think it was a 00 or 01) eclipse at a repo lot not sure what turbo it had in it but g'dam! 50 ft burnouts!!! they nearly kicked us out because we were doin passes thru their lot (about 65mph) lmao was great fun. Once I start doing more mods to my car I will make up some tutorials, maybe once I make my next set of gauge overlays I will post exactly how you do it.

I own a '90 es and I'm a big fan of the 2.5l right now I'm working on building a custom intake and header for the car, in fact when its done I'm going to dyno tune it in. I'm trying to get at least 150hp to the wheels through an N/A 2.5 Without any head workother than planing, no valve work, not block stroking or boring, and no camp changes.
now you may say impossible, I say not impossible damn near though. But think of it if I can push 50% more hp with most all stock components, than think of its ability when cams change, heads ported, valves clearanced.

Sounds pretty sweet, when you get it done you should buy a cold air intake from me and throw it on there to complete it lol. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Then try upping the compression a bit. (No really) You may need to run premium gas, but It will probably be worth it. Shave the head a bit, but keep an eye on valve clearance, you don't want your little 2.5 to become an interferance engine. Watch your cam profile.

Well you see the intake has already been designed, but in order to make the nesseccary header and tune it I have to have the CFM flow rates of the head in stock form, but NOONE seem to be giving me the info, or they just don't have it. Its not a turbo its just a regular 782 swirl and I intend to keep it stock like witht he cam its stock and the head has never been planed. i also need all the stats that go with the factory cam, most important is LSA, and Valave overlap in degrees.. but eh intake is designed to use sonar charging and will act like a 10 psi supercharger at 3k rpm, the plenum volume changes based on rpm so it harness the mixture near perfect, and the rammer pipe adjust to maximise plenum filling at every rpm from idle, Based on programming shops they say if the exhaust matches this engine should put out 150-200 horse near 2.5k-4.3k .... Enought to smoke most most cars out of a corner in excel or take off... Best part is everything adjust to maximize power no matter waht the rpm is.
