what is diffrence between turbo head and regular head

Default what is diffrence between turbo head and regular head

I was intrested in replacing my regular 2.5 head with a turbo head,is there any differance I should worry about.Or is there no difference between the two. I had cylinder head work done before and my friend added a turbo cam on my current head. Thanks

Well as far as i know there is little difference between a turbo head and a standard head for the 2.2 and the 2.5. I know a guy who has a turbo head on his NA shadow, but maybe better flow, but other than that, little or no difference.

There is no difference in flow. Turbo head have different valves, valves springs, and valves seats. The turbo cam is not an improvement on a tbi car. Most turbo guys will upgrade there engine with a tbi cam. Tbi cam are better.

thanks for your reply speedy shelby. So a tbi cam has more of a lift than turbo cam.

yes the best stock cam for any of these cars from a 88 tbi. But it hard to find and there no real way of knowing what cam it is since there is no way of identifing between them

cool I will keep this in mind. Hopefully I can find one. So this cam has to be from an 88 tbi engine no matter what car a shadow, daytona,sundance etc.

should be I got one for my charger but going into a better flowing 287 casting or G-head that are found on a 85 and older cars.
