Default 92 Sundance

I have a 92 Sundance America. It runs great when it runs. Dies sometimes. I get a code 12. When it dies it doesn't restart. When it was not starting, I checkedthe power on the #3 pin of the ECU. I had 12.8v. I replaced the ECU. Started and ran great twice. Then nothing. Cranks as usual, but no go. Having checked around online I find this to be a common problem with Sundances.

Any ideas?

I have checked my grounds and they are fine. Tight and clean. The fuel pressure must be fine when the car runs. I need to find out what makes it not run. On a code 12, the power to the ECU is not present. This power also powers the auto shut down relay. (Where is that by the way?) I've checked the fusable link and the wiring. It all checks out. I'm kinda still at a loss.

It by the driver side strut. Code 12 means usaully that you had the battery disconected within the last 50 turn of the key. But if it doesn't go away after about week and half of daily use then you got a problem. Check them again to see if any new one come up. Is your car have an egr that sticking?

Damn thing still don't work. If I can't get it running I'll sell it and never buy another Chrysler product again.

you said that you got 12.8 for volts. Was that off the battery. If you got the same on the battery then your altnator is going out. When it dies is there no juice to restart it?

The 12.8 is on the #3 pin at the ECU, when the car is not running. When it doesn't start, I can grind away on the starter for 15 minutes easy. The charging system is fine. Also, the running/not running thing, comes and goes. If I try the car 10 times in a day, it might start 3-8 of those times and not always in a row. If it starts, all is good. Runs great, charges, etc. It might die while going down the road and if it does, it will not restart. At First. Maybe 30 minutes later, maybe 2 days later. But it has always restarted and when it did, it ran great. Not the best thing for my teenage daughter to drive.

what about fuel pressure, or fuel pump?
we have a 89 sundance, and when we got it, it didnt run, and its got electric pump, in the tank, so we pulled it, and saw taht the power, or ground, or something wasnt hooked up, so im guessing over time, it loosened up. maybe your losing power to it, and it shuts off, and sometimes, it touches, or moves back into place, where power goes through, and it runs....
idk for sure, but i would check that, if you didnt already.
