You can also make your own DOHC 2.2L engine, by doing a Neon cylinder head swap http://home.comcast.net/~ozspeed/CylinderHead.htm

If your honestly gonna go through that much work to make your 2.2 DOHC, for the same amount you could drop in a Turbo motor or make your 2.2 MPFI.

But with a 2.2/2.5 Dohc conversion you can still add on the turbo and get even more power. So it all depends on how much powwer you want in the end... And the DOHC will get you the extra power without worrying about blowing/rebuilding a turbo.

neon head is what people do to there 2.2/2.5 when there the stock 8 valves aren't engough. I thought about it but going with the 8 valves. The TIII motor also came in spirit R/Ts. Also it not daytona Iroc Z it daytona Iroc R/T. They did make normal Daytona Iroc that came with a 3.0 V6 or a 2.5 T1 motor.

Hey you guys thanks for your replies. But If I do happen to install a DOHC head would I need to change the CPU. Also which CPU should I use.

If you have questions you can email the maker of that website http://home.comcast.net/~ozspeed/index.htm (the link is at the bottom of the page).
From what is on that site it doesn't look like he says anything about a different computer, but by using the neon intake and fuel rail you need 4 injectors which means you need the wiring harness and computer to drive them. You could use a Megasquirt to run it and that would make the addition of a turbo easier.

Stock turbo are all 4 injectors. You can run a neon head on stock eletronics. Most people go with a 2.5 for extra fuel but you can get custom cal for anything you put together.

Also stock TIII engine didn't have a distriber they ran a coil pack. You can run a distriber on a Non TIII but a true one doesn't even have a whole for it.

But you would have to have the turbo engine to begin with. NA's are all TB injection.

My best suggestion would start with a standard 8 valve turbo setup before going with any of 16 valve options.
