I know this is an old thread but Im having the same problem, My dad right away said "rings are shot" I told him that the car reaches over 90mph no problem and I havent lost any power...therefore its not the rings (no burning oil/blue smoke either). Anyhow mine looks like its leakin at the connector from the valve cover to the airbox. I asked Advance Auto Parts and one guy said its the PCV Valve, I cleaned it out good and it seems to be working right..I have noticed that it only leaks at higher RPM/Speeds. I mostly notice it when Im goin down the highway and have the windows down (I start to smell the oil hitting my exaust). If anyone has any ideas other than maybe a clogged port (gonna try to get some of the stuff that cleans the motor up while you run it before an oil change, then do an oil change on it this week) I would appreciate any suggestions.

If its leaking, its prolly cracked. All the old ones do.

Nope, I did an oil change and no more leaks. I think maybe I over filled it and didnt realize it (it didnt show that it was full on the dipstick :S). Anyhow its all good now.

Next question, I bought a 2 door 91 Shadow for my fiance..has a 2.5L from a 93 Sundance in it but when in drive it seems to smoke alot from under the hood (white smoke) its coming from the back of the valve cover (where it goes into the airbox) and if you take the cap off the oil fill its coming out of there. My dad thinks its the rings (yes again lmao) I know the head gasket is going out but want to verify this is all it is. The oil is really creamy (antifreeze going into it), and the car gets fairly hot fast. Right now she only drives it to work which is a 10 min drive each way, Hoping to use my dads garage this weekend and do the headgasket.
