Nice graphics. On your other topic (LP Gas), you've got some photos of your engine. It definitely looks like the previous owner did a home-brew conversion of your truck. Ideally, a multi-point EFI engine should be converted with an injection conversion but these are expensive for V-10s because of the added cost of low sales-volume propane V-10 ECUs. Fumigation conversions run the risk of intake manifold backfires due to fuel transport delay. Make sure that you have an Impco RCV in the (Model E) converter's cover.
Before you put any fuel in the tank, make sure you get the propane system inspected so that it complies with NFPA 58. See US Propane Conversion Shops.
Also, you should make sure you line up a readily available supply of low-cost propane. See AltFuelPrices. Because the propane is used for heating, its price usually goes up during the winter. You might be able to get a better deal on propane if you prepay for the amount of propane you think you're going to need for the year during the summer. Prepaying for a year's worth of fuel could also get you a volume discount on your purchase.
The Impco Catalog will give you some basic information about the operation of their air-gas valve carburetion systems. You've probably got Dual Curve propane controller in there as well.

A propane system isn't dangerous if there isn't any fuel in it. I would check with local propane suppliers to see if there are any conversion shops nearby that can help you. They could at least tell you what kind of fuel pricing they could offer while you're at it.
Did the PO give you any reason why he took the tank out?
Were you able to figure out what feedback controller you've got? It should be connected electrically to the solenoid at the Model E's cover.
