Mopar Stage 2 Upgrade Numbers?

RE: Mopar Stage 2 Upgrade Numbers?
My install instructions show 240 ponies with the Stage 1 alone. Add a K&N and a Mopar/Borla exhaust and you're probably looking at over 250 horses.
www.modernperformance.com states they believe the actual HP for a stock SRT-4 is probably closer to 250-255 HP based on what they've seen. Mopar has been understating the HP figures to avoid "insurance shock".
If that's true, add 20-25 more HP to the advertised numbers......that would put Stage 1 alone at 260-265 HP.

i wouldn't quote those numbers as bible, some dynos are showing differently. we had a dyno day last night and stock srt's were pulling 203-210 fwhp. now yes, everyone dynoed a little low last night (it seemed that most were missing about 15hp) due to insane heat and humidity in the shop. i dynoed my car finally, pulled a 241 on setting 3, 260 with race gas. yes, stage 2 hates the dyno and it was apparent from looking at my dyno sheet, as you could see plain as day that the computer was pulling timing after about 5200 rpms.
magazine and bench racing are great until the dyno sheet tells you the real story...[:@]

Modern Performance is located in Houston Texas where the temp and humidity are both near "100" this time of the year. I'll take their figures as a general guide until somebody proves them wrong. I've heard of Mopar understating HP figures ever since I was a kid....at least they don't overstate like the "four letter" auto maker did....[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

There you go, the most comprehensive collection of Stage 2 times around
It pretty much confirms what Zeuss said, but of course there are variations. As far as power levels, I pretty much just go with the Mopar/Dodge stated numbers as wheel figures.
03 = 215 stock, 230 S1, 265 pump S2, 280 racegas S2 (S2 numbers dependant on Mopar exhuast or better.
04 = 230 stock, 240ish S1, S2 the same.

Thanks, glhs837, you've come through again!
My life has shown me that what is true for someone else is usually not true for you. Especially when it comes to cars, mods, driving techniques, etc. To some people the SRT-4 is a "drag car", others see it as a kick butt "rally car" and others like to just surprise people on the street...each to their own.
I now am rethinking Stage 2 after blowing the sensor with just Stage 1. Your posting showing no HP gain from Stage 1 to Stage 2 for an '04 is rather disturbing!!!

Whoa, Dusty!!!!!! BIG misunderstanding!!!!!!
I meant that 04s with S2 get the same numbers as an 03 with S2.
Meaning 04 w S2 should be the 265, 280 racegas. Now, as psichick mentioned, S2 and dynos don't get along. The best indicator of the power is the times. Not mine of course, I suck[:'(]
I can say I have almost 10K on my S2 car, other than having to tighten up my piping clamps, no issues. And nothing blown out besides the hotside pipe clamp got loose. I show 16-17 psi every day, actually use my boost gauge to ensure I have no boost leaks
Leaks show as higher boost levels

RE: Mopar Stage 2 Upgrade Numbers?
i'm lying? would you like to see my dyno sheet as proof? i wasn't the only s2 car there, there were 3 of us and i got the highest numbers of everyone there (other than the one upgraded turbo car). yes, the dyno was giving low numbers that night, everyone has agreed on that. but those are the numbers that we were seeing, and that was running in 86 degrees and 30in of pressure, not exactly ideal, and also not that far off from what modern probably runs their dynos in. was the dyno conservative? yes. but did it lie? no.
