How much was the intercooler? try looking on ebay. It's always much cheaper. You can get a huge fmic for aout 400$ or maybe even less. Check it out. Those companies sell fmic for a lot more.

In general the larger the intercooler, the more surface space in which to lower the intake temperatures. It's just like with a radiator, the larger it is the cooler and more efficient it is. However there is a limit to how big, because it can only drop the temperature so much and sometimes a larger intercooler is simply a waste of money as it is no more effective that the smaller one. This is usually the case on the SRT-4's, the stock intercooler is large enough that you will need to be creating alot more horsepower, and in doing so more heat, to require a larger one to be at maximum performance again. Most of the larger intercoolers require modifications to get them to fit, most of which means permanently removing the front bumper itself for it to fit. If you want better intercooler performance, it is cheaper, easier and more benefitial to use an intercooler sprayer.

You have to pay particular attention to the ground clearence as well. The stock SRT-4 intercooler already is fairly close to the ground, anything bigger might have some ground clearence issues.....

don't forget that bigger=more volume, which could mean less pressure, depending on the turbo's capabilites. also, there are more places for leaks, etc. With our stock turbo, i see no need to upgrade. i know roach did b/c he's planning on a bigger turbo later on- obviously that's a different story.

That's right. I plan on sticking with the stock turbo myself, so the stock intercooler will do just fine for me.
