does anyone have their a/c smell like mold when their turn in on ?
well i do!!
i live in houston where it is pretty humid but still.

I sometimes have that problem as well, i live in South Carolina where its 86% humidity year round and durring the summer its like 90-95%. Its done that to me in most of my cars.

Lysol helps...spray in before and after using the A/C...also, parking your vehicle inside will make a difference......

it's the air/water separator- basically a "sock" that collects the water- when it's really humid they don't dry out btn uses and get that musty smell- we have the same problem in our aircraft- i'm sure gump can tell you all about it and give you the maintainer's point of view.

yeah, i try to learn as much as i can from those guys, but they just know a shyte-load more about my airplane than i do. gump's on c-5's, so he has even more airplane to know about![sm=smiley5.gif]

do oa-10's even have ac? or are you a herc guy (i know their ac doesn't work for sh**). not that you need it up in bf alaska (i LOVE fairbanks, btw, but i'm not a big fan of eielson afb).

The reason you are getting the moldy smell is because you are not using your A/C properly. Before you shut the car off when using the A/C you are supose to turn the A/C off and then turn the fan on for a minute or two to clear out the moisture. ok !
so know tell me why this never happen with my other car i had in the past
i have a freind with a pt cruiser ,and he does have the same probleme
so i think it's socks if it's normal
