I was driving my car and the check engine light came on the code was p1188 which when I looked it up said tip sensor performance. What is it and what should I do about it. I just installed the old style AGP wga on saturday and I am boosting around 17 and holding it,could this be why cause the first day I put it on I got the overboost code and now this one.

 

Someone has got to know something?

 

i know somethin you dont know!

 

the tip sensor is on the passenger side of the car, attached to the side. if you're throwing a code then the wire for it probably broke or popped off. just put it back on if that's the case. if not, then the sensor itself might be shot.

 

I looked for it but I didn't see which one it is. What is it next to exactly?

 

go to your soilinoid pack an find the white line. follow that, it will lead to a sensor mounted to the side of the car. that's the tip sensor.

edit: i'm having a brain fart. it's on the driver's side. just follow the line and you'll find it.

 

I got it but everything looks okay and the light has not came back on so don't know

 

might have had a ecu brain fart, it happens. if it doesn't come back on again don't worry about it lol

 

Yeah it came back on tonight so I have to replace the sensor I guess. On the other website there was someone saying I could just take the white line out completly and if that is true wouldn't that work?

 

i threw the same code and my problem was the green line came disconected at the turbo side
