The hotter the area you live in, the sooner the #4 wire will go bad. MP's SRT-4 had their's melt fairly soon and mine started cooking badly at 2K. The climate in San Antonio and Houston is about the same.

The MSD's will not only last longer, but deliver a hotter spark as well.

You may want to dab a small amount of dielectric grease (about $1 at auto stores) to the inside of the boots with a Q-tip before putting them on if corrosion is a problem in your area.

ok.... finally, i took a picture (with my phone) of what i think are the wires you guys are talking about, i've been looking very closely to the wire on the top right, but it shows no damage, if those are not the wires (i'll feel stupid [&:]) let me know. SORRY FOR THE ****TY PICTURE but my scanner is messed up and i dont have a digital camera.

Yup, that's the wire. Just keep an eye on it from time to time.

Yeah, you'd think that problem would have surfaced in pre-production testing, especially in Death Valley!!!
