Finally got my test drive!
I would like the higher boost that the BOV offers, but I dont really like the dramatic whoosh that a aftermarket produces is there a quiter one? Also the site claims that the 04 already has stage one injectors,so if I bought a stage one would the only difference be the comp.?I am thinking of keeping the factory air box but with a k&n filter in it,and use the money for this MPxSRT-4 exhaust system it is 3 in. is this the mopar system? I listened to it on the site and it sounded as good as my charger(in its own right!)
The Mopar BOV is one of the more quiet ones. It's loud enough, but not overpowering.
Your Stage 1 will only have the PCM and a Stage 1 "plate/badge" to mount where ever you want.
I did the same thing with the factory airbox, I put a K&N inside and spent the money I saved on the exhaust. The MPx exhaust is Modern Performance's own system. You only need the 3 inch version if you are looking at running 325-350 HP or more.
With what you've listed, you're looking at more like 250-255 HP.

I run with some friends at an old airstrip on the southside of San Antonio. Nothing fancy and timing is by stopwatch with launches via radio. I'm the only SRT-4 there and have gone from 13.7's to near 14 on bad days....
You're not going to find a dyno at your local Pep Boys. Best thing is to break your engine in right, add mods carefully, use a quality oil and fuel and ask around for a good dyno in your area. Be aware that dynos are different as well. Don't be surprised to get different numbers at different locations.

I am partial owner of a local dyno so I wont have any problems there, also I am new to FWD and turbos but definatly not new to hot rodding or racing. So what kind of fuel does the SRT-4 like? and I am guessing mobil 1 syn. about 10w30?
91 to 93 Octane is good. I use Chevron for the Techron additive. No use in buying anything higher. The chemical compounds that raise the gasoline's octance rating are added simply to delay the onset of detonation. They produce no extra power.
No, I'm wrong. The gas companies will advertise that only their super-duper gas contains remarkable additives that will repair broken rings, restore ruined bearings, clean dirty windows, add 20,000 miles to the life of your tires AND get you girls.
Buyer beware - Caveat, all you emptors.....

Almost forgot, Mobil-1 10W-30 is good stuff. I'm running Amsoil syn right now to see if I can notice any difference....so far, no. You won't go wrong with either one and I'm seeing good stuff on Redline Syn as well.....but I'd stick with Mobil-1 personally.
At any rate don't use dino oil. Period.
The SRT-4 comes with synthetic from the factory, just like the Viper.

My friend(the other owner of the dyno) actually did a test on a few oils and not only did mobil 1 stay cleaner but it also retrived aout 1.5 h.p and got the cars running temp down on a 2002 Viper(compaired to Amsoil-an I think castrol syn.) So I think I will stick with the mobil 1(its what I run in all of my race cars anyway so I always have a bunch laying around.) thanks for all of the advice dusty!
Not a problem. Glad to be of help. Enjoy your new SRT-4 and stay active on DF!!!!
It'e been nice talking to you!

Your only problem will be trying to launch it, after you get that down it's all the same as the RWD's.As for a list of meanings, heres a short list:
OCC- Oil Catch Can
STS- Short Throw Shifter
STB- Strut Tower Brace
FSTB- Front Strut Tower Brace
RSTB- Rear Strut Tower Brace
CB- Cat Back
MM- Motor Mount (often refering to inserts)
PCM- Powertrain Control Module (computer)
Just a few off the top.
As far as mods go, I highly recommend you check out this link to plenty of info on this as it also gives a great layout of when to get what first and prices and places to get them: https://dodgeforum.com/tm.asp?m=7568...;span%20class=
Glad to hear about your SRT-4 experience.[sm=smiley20.gif][sm=exactly.gif][sm=icon_rock.gif]
