Problem with my idoling...help
I got my SRT about 2 months ago, and i already have a problem. Whenever i drive, ill put it into neutral when i slow down coming to a stop sign or something, and the RPM's will rise on its own to like 3,000 rpm. and im not touching anything. it wont stop until i come to a complete stop. it doesnt happen all the time, but recently it has been doing it a lot. and, if im sitting at a stop light for a long time, it will rise from about 700 rpm, to about 1200 rpm. it just doesnt do it when im slowing down either, ill be going 40 or 50 mph, and ill put it into neutral to coast or something, and instead of going down to 700 rpm, it will be at 3000 while its in neutral. so if i can get any response on what it may be, it would be helpfull. i live in germany, because of the military....so the dealerships arent that great when your trying to speak english to them.

there you go, I misstated the name, sorry,
And for anyone wanting a good refernce of common problems, the stickies there are a good place to start, a problem don't make sticky unless it's common, such as the brake light coming on under acceleration
( waits for crowd to say, "no fooling, THAT's why my brake light has been coming on!!!"

The only thing I can think of right now is that your clutch may be engaging slightly from time to time causing these spikes in engine speed. My Shelby Z use to do odd things like that, I never bothered to check into it since it wasn't a big issue.
glhs has addressed the problem before- it's a throttle position sensor problem. i was at the dealer today and they actually have a heads up on it, if you can believe that. i'm going in tomorrow to get my new #4 plug wire and the new plastic cap for the positive terminal of the battery, and even though my car hasn't had the tps problem they said they'd check it out. the plastic cap is money btw- it actually stays on rather than getting shoved off the terminal by the intake all the time.

I would be interested in this as well. One of the guys is CSC has this prob (he's a Dodge tech.) He replaced hit TPS sensor and the wiring loom already with no luck. I keep telling him to check for shorts in the wiring somewhere but he hasen't. If you need a diag or anything just let me know. I'll post if I find anything.
Barney, they told me I'd have to make an appointment, blah, blah, blah, for that #4 wire.
How about you?
