Is this true?
how come everytime i search stuff about srt-4's and i come across ppl talking about them on other forums they always say something like"why would u want to buy a car that will only lastyou 75,000 miles" or ive heard "ifyou want a car thats gonna run after 100,000 miles, dont buy an srt-4" It seems like ppl that own japanese cars make most of these comments and say domestics like an srt-4 are a waste of money, i happen to like my srt-4 alot and idoubt most of that crap is true...
Preventive maintenance is EVERYTHING. Do the oil change on time with full synthetic oil, change the plugs and wires on a regular basis, same goes for tranny fluid (12-15K) . Pay attention to the coolant and check for boost leaks. If you have a K&N filter you can clean it (recharge) about once a year for about $8.00. Your car will outlive you................

because people still think these are 1st gen neons and the whole "neon" line has paid for early mistakes. this is a major reason why the neon was dumped for the caliber. also, they're just haters. i've seen more problems with hondas and toyotas than any of my american cars.
Maintenance, maintenance, maintenance...like Dusty said. Your car is an investment--it doesn't matter what it is, honda, chevy, subaru, whatever. If you take time for your car, it'll take care of you. I only have 25,000 miles on mine, but I have every bit of confidence the car will run as long asI maintain it and listen to the good people here have to say

Turbos in general used to get a bad rap not only "haters" but from car dealers as well, especially when it came to trade in time. My good old Dodge Turbo-Z had only 21,000 miles on it when I traded it in, but the dealer gave me the minimum book value due to the fact that "turbos cook the oil and ruin the bearings".
The SRT-4 is speciallydesigned not to "cook the oil" and the use of synthetic oil will make it last even longer....

Most turbo's used to get ran into the ground, either by shoddy design or a lead foot driver..... PSI Chick also hit the other part of the problem on the nose as well. The Neon has never been viewed as a good quality car. It's always been looked at as a cheap econobox with good gas mileage....
It's unfortunate, but that is the mindset of a lot of people.....it's slowly changing tho.....
Maintenance is indeed the key to keeping ANY car running for a long time....
