I want to put a 50 trim kit on my car and i have called around and asked some local shops but they all give me a different list of parts and price. I dont know what parts I really need as opposed to the ones they are just playin me for.... Any help???

fuel system (return line, injectors, pump,and something to control it with like a dtec or safc)
wideband
exhaust

other stuff that you probably should get....

fmic
intake
throttle body
solid mounts
hard pipes and bov

 

how much should all that cost about cuz i am being told 5500 for pretty much everything you listed

 

if that's including labor and a tune then that's probably about right. it's about $4500 for the turbo and fuel parts, so about $1000 for install and tune isn't that unreasonable. you could probably get it a little cheaper, maybe 5k, but that would be about it.

 

is dtech any good? one shop loves dtech and the other does not really care for it at all and they want to go with the aem what is recommended?

 

dtec is gonna work fine, of course aem is way better but you're not building an 800hp monster right, so you should be fine with the dtec

 

there's a big difference between a dtec and a ems. you don't need a ems to run a 50 trim. a ems is a full standalone, a dtec is just a fuel piggy back. it's all you really need. besides the major difference in tuning, you're also talking about a $2000 difference in price.
