SRT-4 Alarm Activated?
The dealers like to pretend this feature doesn't exist for some reason. You can jump over to srtforums and use the search feature to see the postings on this topic. Don't stay there very long, though!!!![sm=smiley36.gif]
There MAY have been a topic about this on DF in the early months of 2004...heck after 6300 postings, I can't remember everything!!![sm=smiley1.gif]

I have that keyless entry and they also activated what they call ForceTracker which is the same as lojack for getting the extended warranty. But if someone were to break in there wouldnt be an alarm or sound that would go off
Yup, the keyless entry is standard for the SRT-4. And if your alarm is activated, you're supposed to use the key fob or else the alarm goes off after a certain period of time.....I think, [:@]
Information overload. I'll have to research this further.
Lojack is cool, my PD has used it in a couple of drug busts....

YES, the car does come with an alarm from the factory. go to the SRT forums and search for it. some where on there is a complete diagram of the exact codes that must be entered into the cars computer by the dealer. I printed that out and took it to them, because they had no clue that it would do that. You do not have to buy a sentry key, which they tried to dell me. Just have them activate that, make them do it for free, and you use your current key fob. the only thing it does is... when you lock the door with the key fob or with the door lock button inside the car, it will arm itself. when it is armed, the only way to turn it off is with your key fob. the only thing that will set it off is if one of the four doors are opened. it does not detect the trunk. also, as someone mentioned, you key has a magnetic device in it that tells your car if it is the correct key or not. if you have a $2.00 wal-mart key made for this car, it will only run for 30 seconds and the computer will shut it down.
See, theres some confusion here
03s and some 04s, I don't recall the cutoff date, do not have the "alarm" portion of the SKIM (remember the Sentry Key Immobilizer Module, right?) activated.
Keyless entry = fob, locks and unlocks only.
VTA = Vehicle Theft Alarm
Alarm= when locked WITH THE FOB, sets the mentioned light to blinking, 17 seconds after lock. Thereafter, if any of the doors are opened without using the fob to unlock, and this includes using the key in the door also, the alarm will sound, headlights blink. This CANNOT be deactivated hitting the unlock on the fob!!!!!!! The only way to turn it off is to start the car.
Later 04s had this activated from the factory.
As far as the Forcetracker system

It looks good.
