excellent deal! are you putting it on yourself, Gump? let me know how the install goes if you do!!

I have considered after the holiday season buying stage 2 w/toys around march/april (my b-day + income tax return = faster neon)...

it would seem so far the best price I have found is Modern Performance (and to appease people, I did check with DF sponsers!)

if you call jeff from moparsupercenter you get the real prices, they're a lot lower than what's listed on his site

Stage two sucks, all that money for an upgrade that NEEDs 100 octane.

I'm on stage one, with my own mods, my friends stage 2 car on pump premium can't pass me. ( once I'm rolling, that damn wheel hop.)

i was only able to pull a 13.8@104, but that was with a 2.6 60' and spinning through first, second, and part of third. if i can get traction, i fully expect to break 12's on dr's.

was that time with 100 octane or regular premium gas??? I know what you mean by wheel spin, i had the exact problem after i got the S2 installed, every time that i shifted WOT from 1st to 2nd it was terrible. Im going to the 1/4 mile any time this month, I've never been to the 1/4, i ussually go to the 1/8, that is closer to my house.

Now RIp, a few points if you will allow me.

1. All that money, so we can assume you are talking about the Toys configuration, correct?

2. While it NEEDS 100 octane to achieve the 280whp, it still does just fine with 265 on pump gas.

3. Have you gone to the track with yours? Then you would have an objective measure to go against. As PSI Chick said, if S2 is not properly installed, or the vehicle has boost leaks, it's quite possible its only capable of runnig with a stocker.

4. What are your mods?

5. It's hardly fair to judge the worth or a kit from one install. There are many folks in the mid-low 13s with upwards of 105 mph traps.

6. Keep in mind, to duplicate the Stage 2 features from aftermarket stuff would be just as coslty. Multistage boost control, (You going to drive yours in the snow?), switching fuel maps in a blink, + factory appearance.

I'm not slamming you or your mods, a lot of folks are going just as fast as S2 for less, but usually driveability suffers, and your car looks like a science experiment. not to mention the time spent tweaking.

badsrt4 - that was with 100 octane. my problem wasn't wheel hop, that's not an issue for me anymore. my problem was that the top layer of my dr's had hardened, so instead of heating up and getting sticky they were heating up and getting slick. i need to go 4 or 5 good burn outs to take off about 1/8" of tire before i go to the track again and then i should be ok. i'll get some pics of the burn outs when i do them

glhs837...

http://www.mopar.com/srt_stage_2.htm

If I am looking at the chart right, that's 265 hp at the crank... not wheels... if you give it a mild % loss it's still a heck-of-a-lotta power to a little car at the wheels... just making sure here...

Yep, every dyno chart Dodge and Mopar has produced has been crank rated,

03s @ 215 = whp
03s on S1 @ 230 = whp
04s @ 230 = whp
04s on S1 @ 240ish = whp
03 S3 rated at 355 crank on racegas = 369whp from SCC (becuase of the side exit, a Mopar exhaust used for the rating drops the power to 355whp)

There have been enough 260ish whp S2 dynos to prove this out.

Oh, and the reason for this is easy, when DCX or Mopar dynos, they make it worst case sceanrio

Ambient temp in the Death Valley in August range, max humidity, crap CA gas, heatsoaked to hell, all the cards stacked against the car.

So most (maybe %95-%97) will see the rated at the wheels.

They NEVER use anything but an engine dyno, Ethan told me this himself.

GLHS837::

He hasn't been to the track with his, no.

As far as money, he means money with or without toys is way too much for what you get out of it. With the ideas and skills he has, he can get way more out of it for less.

He's done plenty of S2 installs, and has driven plenty of S2 cars. He has more than one car to go by.

His car is a science experiment, and a damn fine one at that. I've never seen an SRT perform the way he makes his perform. And its all innovation. And his innovation will get him to be faster/quicker than you (once he fixes his wheel hop) with your S2 upgrade.

He's got an 04 with Stage one, a pretty cool trippy intake setup, and did something to his exhaust. He mostly does custom stuff cause he specializes in that.

Also, you can have someone in an S2 drive someone in an S1 or S0 and the S1 or S0 kick their *** if their shifting properly and running the right octane. In his defense, I'd have to agree with RI PSIGUY.

He doesn't drive his in the snow and it barely if ever sees the rain. He's got a Toyota Tacoma for the mean ****.

Oh and btw we're really good friends in real life, thats how I'd know. [sm=smiley31.gif]

PSIChick go for it, give him a run....guaranteed he'd take you. (not to be rude, just to be factual)
