No problem Gump, any time.

Anyway, I did WOT shifting once, hard as hell for an old dog like me. Can you imagine how hard it is NOT to lift off the gas when you hit the clutch. Took me five tries before I could keep my foot planted. Every fiber of my being is screaming 'NO, TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!:

But it WAS cool. BANG, BANG, BANG!!!!!!!!

That was with S1, I haven't bothered since S2, don't care for the wear and tear on the drivetrain. Shock loads suck.

i only wot at the track. it only took one run for me to figure out that i needed to do it. my first run ever i ran a 14.6 and said "that sucked" and went wot from there on out. my only problem is that i have a tendency to pull my foot off the clutch before i'm fully in gear so it kicks it back out, and it's always in 3rd [:@]

chick - you do realize that you only need a licence to run at a track if you run 9.99 or faster, and you have to bring your own car to testing to get the licence. you won't be getting it any time soon in an srt unless you go all out race like psi-fi, but i don't see that happening.

Oh, and CM, let me jump in on PSiChicks post. I had NEVER been to the track before I got this car. I've only been four times, and it IS intimidating. But you know what? I almost promise you that you would find some SRT owners there (NED) and that you could park with them and hang, hell, you know most of them from the SRTforums. You don't have to run, just see what's going on, cheer for the SRTs and have fun.

Geez, I didnt mean to start a RIOT over stage 2. It's a fine package, but I feel its pricey for what you get. Hell, Mopar has to make their money. Stage three pricing came out today........e mail me if you want a quote.

As for NED, I only race my bike there. I get bored watching 13 +second runs. I got my YZF-R6 down to a 10.76, @ 126.8 They threw me off the track because you need leathers to run more than 125mph. What the hell is the difference if I go down at 128 vs. 125???? Rules are rules. PSIChick is correct, 9.99sec and under, you need a license, what ever your running.

My point, you can only get so much out of a FWD set up. Thats only my opinion. Plus, what's more fun than throttle induced oversteer?????

My buddies SS Camaro, his brothers Cobra, and all the Vipers I have driven, my 1974 SD455 Firebird, I'd take RWD any day. My SRT is my favorite FWD car I've owned, but I bought it to commute to work without using 300 gallons of gas a week. It just so happens it's a blast to drive and tune. But it will never smoke a Mustang Cobra or F body with the SAME TYPE of mods. But you gotta know the SRT is something special the first time you punch it!!!
The PVO guys at DCX created an incredible car form that PL platform.

Threw you off the track huh?? For 3mph?? Jeesh....that sucks. Yeah the SRT is my favorite car too, even though its smooshed .

Oh yes throttle induced oversteer is LOTS of fun... LOL

Hee hee PSIGuy and LilSpark Plug.....rioting this thread. Don't mess!!! LOL Jk Guys.

And Stage 3 pricing is damn near evil.....he already told me what it was, and even dealer costs makes you wanna cry at how much it is, then consumer cost? Oh good lord.....

Yeah thats true, and since I got into my accident I'm scared **** to even be in the passenger seat of someone's car. I hardly trust anyone that I've driven with. Except Paul. Everyone else I'm damn near on edge. One day I'll get my *** up to NED, I've gotta get my car fixed first from the crash. And yeah srtforums.com makes TONS of NED meets, practically every weekend. I was planning on gong to Vipers Vs. Vettes a couple weekends ago, but they canceled it. You'll see me there one day....when my baby's in one piece.

Sorry I should've clarified that more. I want a professional racing license, as in Pro-drag, etc. I would love nothing more than to race professionally. Not in my SRT though. Next year I'm gonna take the classes that N.A.S.A. offers when they come to CT, (they're like 200 bucks a time and you need a helmet). That'll be my first step. After that I want an R6.... then I'll play around on that.

I didn't mean to race below 9.99 on a track in MY car, I meant circuits, etc. below 9.99 in an SRT-4...eek whoa [:-]

Not only is it track to track, but weather, track preparation (how well prepped it is that day), elevation, you tire pressure, your tires (whether your on slicks or not) and temperature also play high roles in times as well.

And on top of that WOT shifts or non WOT shifts....and misshifts....

after the mustang blows its engine next season (which it will, i have no doubts about that), it will be a 9 second car (mid 10's now) when we're done rebuilding (not bad for a true street car running dr's). i do plan on getting my nhra licence in that car when the time comes, well i guess i'll kinda have to get it then won't i lol.

I could never imagine driving a 9 second car, that must be absolutely insane. Why do you know the motor's gonna go in it PSIChick? And what kinda Mustang is it?

Lol yeah get the license, and then have a blown motor would suck. Whats the problem with it? Anything you could do to prevent it? Or it just won't be able to contain what your pushing?
