Where did all you folks get your S2 and y did you get it there?

 

Woodhouse Dodge. Becuase I knew they would have it first. They are a hair more expsensive, but I was okay with that, considering they supported the SRT-4 Nationals last year.

 

dallas dodge, cause i did a long research and it was the only place where thay had install a couple of S2's before, and also because i got a pretty good deal with them, $1,150 installed and w/ tax. (without turbo toys) at the other dealerships the S2 w/o tt itself was $999.00 plus tax, and $300 to install it.

 

you can get s2 w/o toys form moparsupercenter.com for about 775, w/toys for 1250 or so. you shouldn't have to have either installed at a dealership, especially the w/o toys version. you can do that in your driveway in about an hour. w/toys is a little longer, but still easily done yourself. the directions are so detailed that a monkey could follow them, and were done that way on purpose so that you could do the install yourself.

 

I gotta highjack Gumps thread for sec (as well as answering his questions)... do you think the S2 is worth it?? I realize this questions boils down to personal preference and the age old "what do you want to do with your car?" question...

can you really tell the difference with it?? has it really improved your track times?? (these aren't doubting questions, I just want some real world answers ).... also... I got plenty of V8's I want to beat - hehe...

 

yes you can tell the difference. i don't have any good track times to show you because my last trip out was a disaster. i had some serious tire issues and could not get any traction. i was only able to pull a 13.8@104, but that was with a 2.6 60' and spinning through first, second, and part of third. if i can get traction, i fully expect to break 12's on dr's. i'm going back on the 14th and i'll report then what happens. one of the guys with me was pulling consistant 13.4's all day on street tires and stock exhaust with 2.0 60'.

on the dyno, i had the highest dyno of anyone the night we all went. many of the other people had s2, wga, mbc/ebc, and other odds and ends, yet i still put up the highest numbers. and it was apparent that the ecu was pulling timing, as after about 5k the curve just takes a dump.

so is it worth it? yup. i would definetly get it again if i had to make the choice. i also have a lot less problems than many of the people that try to tune themselves. that in itself makes it worth it to me.

Ya, BIG difference. I know because I can select DAB #1 and simulate a stock car. Did that by accident, and was amazed. "Where the heck did all my power go!!!!!!![]"

My 1/4 time went from 14.2 to 13.8 trap speed from 100.1 to 105.

and I suck

 

well just ordered it from modernpreformance and it came to a total of 866.99 with shipping. now i get to sit around and wait for it to come in....
