Forge Blow Off Valve
Has any one out here ever have a problem with there Forge BOV? Lately mine is not "BLOWING OFF" I hear nothing. When it was new it sounded great, now nothing. What the F is going on. The power is still there. but the noise is gone.
I had bought a used Forge BOV and it wasn't working... Here are a few things to look for.
Make sure the cup the spring sits in isn't broken or cracked. Mine was which caused my bov to not blow off. The crack in the cup absorbed the spring compression instead of opening the vent.
Make sure the diaphram isn't torn
Make sure the two peices you screw together are screwed together tightly. Mine had to be REALLY tight otherwise it would loose itself up and not blow off.
After I worked out all these issues I never had a problem with it again. I emailed forge about the cup and they sent me a new one, along with new diaphrams for free.

Yes, it's not too hard. I did it MANY times when I was trying to figure out wtf was wrong with mine. I also took the entire thing off many times. That third bolt wasn't so hard by the time I finially got it working right. Though I did lose that 3rd bolt twice. Very frustrating, lol.
The hard part with taking it apart without removing it, is you have to compress the spring and screw at the same time, mostly with one hand in the small space. Many times I was doing it on a hot engine, so that didn't help. Also many times it flew apart and I had to fish the spring, diaphram or cup from in the engine bay. lol Let it cool all the way and stay calm and you probably wont have too much of a problem.

OK I'll try to take the top off tomorrow. And if I find it to be bad ( I know it is) then I'll contact forge and see what they will do. And thanks for all the info. If I have any problems putting it back together I'll send you note.
THANKS AGAIN!
