Default Spider Eclipse

Mamma sooo proud... I don't know anything about the Spider Eclipse but I thought they were suppose to be pretty bad ***... Ummm, I pretty much handed this guy his *** and then some... I looked up the meaning of eclipse on websters.com and one of the defenitions was A disgraceful or humiliating end; a downfall: Boyall mighty, that ain't no lie... I'm so proud. No wheel hop, no excessive tire spin, I have the wrong equipment to be saying this but, I have the biggest boner right now. I've never seen the car here before so, he must have been passing through... YAY ME...

What year was it???

2000 and up if it wasn't a turbo has 200hp 3.0L V6 sharing the drivetrain with the 2000-2004 Stratus R/T Coupe.
Or it could've had the 150hp i4.

1999 and below if the turbo model only came in 4 bangers, and didn't put out much over 215 if I'm correct. These DSM can seriously haul *** if turbocharged and intercooled, and tuned properly...the new ones...are sleds. Stock they run in the high 15s. Ew [:'(]

GST, GSX, GS, RS, GT are the models.

AWD was only second gen.

FWD was third gen.

Yes the Converitbles weigh a bit more, and the Stratus Coupes have 500lbs on the Eclipses as well.

New GTO eh? RWD.....ahdunno.

GTO I Just wanted to play and see what I could do against it. Tiral and era

Mitsu GST was FWD (every year 1st and 2nd Gen) DSM Built engine not a stratus engine (Dimond Star Motors) Chrysler & Mistu got together in the 80's till 99 that was the end of that

Mitsu GSX was AWD (every year 1st and 2nd Gen) DSM Built engine (same)
Mitsu GS, RS crap same motor that was in the stratus

Talon Turbo Was AWD (every year 1st and 2nd Gen) DSM Built engine (same)
Talon GS was crap same motor that was in the stratus

I'm talking about the 2000+ Eclipses being the same as the 2001-2004 Stratus Coupes as far as engines go. They share the 3.0L SOHC v6, and the same interior (with the stratus through 2002).

I'm well aware that Diamond Star Motors is a company who makes the Stratus Coupes, and the Eclipses. It was when Dodge and Mitsu merged. I'm also aware that in 2006 the Evo's will be made by Dodge, and the new neon's will be based off that platform. I had a Stratus Coupe for two years. Of course the RS's and GS's were crap, they were lucky if they put 115 to the wheels.

And hence what I said earlier, it SHARES its drivetrain with mitsu. If you've ever looked at the parts labels on a Stratus Coupe, almost every single one says Mitsubishi. They also had the worst tranmission ever made, the A604.

The spyders were also the only mitsu's to have the 2.4L i4. versus the others. My ex had a 98 Eclipse Spyder GS, with the 2.4 i4. And as I understand it it was Spyder-specific.

stock for stock there isnt an eclipse you should have trouble with no matter what year or model. and i disagree with BLACK04 about his first comment. you shouldnt have trouble in any gear except 1st if he launches well. i dont know much about 3rd gens but your best race would be a 2nd gen GST, but still not close.

ummm... you probably had nothing on him if the guy could drive... despite what people think of the styling, the new GTO is a pretty quick machine...

The new Mitsu is crap slow and heavy, just a car for looks after DMS shut down
if any of us race a GST yea that would be easy for a newbi driver, But if someone knows what they are doing and have a GSX or a Turbo Talon they will eat you up on the launch and you would catch then in 2nd possiably 3rd.

But if they cant drive they you could take them with ease!!

My parter (not life but shop owner) that I am going into bussness with has a 95 talon awd pushing 480 to the wheel He can launch and I cant even catch him!! But I am stock right now but going over what to buy and how we can get my tuned right? We are going to make down pipe the intercooler and exhaust.
