Turbo Timers
[sm=guilty.gif].....we caught you lieing, or you made a mistake...but you are still GUILTY... haha... anyway i don't like the fact that i might or do have oil sitting in my intercooler, it just doesn't sound pleasant [:'(]........even with a catch can and cooling off my engine properly would there still be a a good chance that there is oil down there in the intercooler?
Yup its down there, I'm gonna take mine off and clean it while my car is all taken apart in the shop. Then I'm gonna talk to Paul and see what he's gonna do about it, and see if I can make the same style drain for mine, but you have to clean it out of the thingy first.
Thank you all very much and you are all very welcome.
I try my best to help out as much as possible. And as I was taught growing up watching G.I. JOE, "and knowing is half the battle."
The OCC's should eliminate the oil from getting into the intercooler, however there is still the oil that is in there from it's useage before the installation of the OCC's. If you have put an OCC on within it's first few thousand miles there isn't too much in there and it is not enough to cause any problems. Cleaning out the intercooler isn't necessary in that case, but it sure wouldn't hurt it any. If your SRT-4 has over 5,000 miles on it then I would try removing and cleaning the intercooler out. I'll report the condition of mine when I finally decide to put my pretty new pressure pipe on, I've had it for a couple months now and haven't got around to installing it. I still also need to install my pillar & gauges and align my exhaust tips.[:@]
