Default How smart is DCX?

I have been searching the inventories of the dealers within a 50 mile radious of me (Atlanta area). Most of them seem to have more '04s in stock than '05s. Normally, you will see large discounts or rebates offered in advertisements for last years models...I haven't seen that happening for the '04 SRT4's. This brings up an interesting question in my mind. Could the number crunchers at DCX be smart enough to realize that the increased prices and lack of a 7/70 warranty for the "05 models will cause the '04s to sell without the huge dealer discounts and factory rebates. Could that even be part of the reason for the price increase and reduction in warranty coverage for what is essentially a car with no mechanical changes from the previous year?

Just a thought and something to wonder about on a slow morning.[sm=interesting.gif]

there are never any factory rebates offered on any of the srt line, that's just the way that it is. the reason that you don't see discounts on the 04s that are out there is because there's so little mark up on these cars to begin with that there isn't much room to negotiate. plus, everyone knows exactly what the msrp on this car is, and no one is willing to pay over that anyway. so they don't offer discounts because they're getting the minimum amount for the cars anyway, and they do need to make some money off these cars that are taking up space in their lots.

They can't really get more 05's in until the 04's are gone. I'd definitely try to get one for invoice, some dealers if they're really desperate to get rid of one (usually it would be a black or silver one) they may go a bit under invoice. But dealer's think customers are stupid anyways, and thats where they're wrong.

Yup. My dealer doesn't "deal" on the SRT-4s because as they put it, "We don't have to, the cars sell themselves." Must be nice.

Thats a $500 dollar rebate, and the SRT-4's don't qualify for the loyalty rebate. No SRT trim does. I come from a Dodge family, and didn't qualify for it. They only do that for certain vehicles during certain times. They don't even qualify for the own your own business $300 dollar rebate. That rebate isn't mailed its taken right off the sticker price or invoice whichever.

Personally, I would have gotten the 04 and the 7/70 warranty for $300 less, but each to their own....enjoy the car!
