I think the only way you'd have trouble with the S2K is in the twisties. GTO, this is only a guess, but I would think you could take them off the line, however in the top end I would imagine they would take hold. However if its an excellent driver I would think that he would take you. Thats a big HP difference, though their torque just isn't there. Again only a guess. I drove a yellow one it was the service manager at Hurd Chevy's car, and honestly didnt like it at all, I wasn't impressed. I liked its v8 growl though. The good things about detailing @ Hurd here in RI, you get to drive everything from Z06's to Hummers, to GTOs, and thensome.
Okay, I raced by buddies 04 GTO. 1st light, he got me off the jump. I spun off the line, but started closing on him. It ended before I could catch him though, so he got me that time. The next light, I launched pretty well and it was a dead heat. 3rd light, I launched perfect, he had some wheel spin, he couldn't close on me, so that one goes to me. So, I guess you could call it a dead heat. We were each 1-1-1. GTO's are no slouches, they are pretty quick. I love the interior of that car, and the rumble from the exhaust is like music to my ears.
From the numbers I've seen from the same magazine, both the SRT-4 and GTO are the same with 0-60 MPH in 5.3 sec. and the 1/4 mile at 13.9 sec. @ 103 MPH.
