Default Threw a code.

On Friday morning my engine came on. I called the dealer and he said that if it is not flashing I would be okay. The light went off Friday afternoon, so I really wasn't very concerned. Set up an appointment for Tuesday.

Well I was driviing home last night and I noticed that the car was not running very smooth and the BOV kept releasing little spurts when it wasn't supposed to. Then I noticed an extremely rough idle when I got off the highway. When I got home I let it idle in the driveway for a minute to cool and to see if it would smooth out. It got worse and actually shut off. I pulled a P 0303 off of the ODO ( misfire cylinder 3). This sucks. Now I can't drive untill at least tuesday. has this happenned to anyone before. I did some searches, but I couldn't find much. Thanks for letting me vent.[:@]

Most common cause is a bad fuel injector. If you are qualified, move it to another location, see if the fault moves with it, meaning you now get a misfire code for the cylinder you put it in. If not, mention that this condition has been seen with a few other SRT-4s. Search SRTforums, titles only, search term "p0303" or "0303", there was just s discussion about this, even the same cylinder.

In that thread, I linked in a previous thread where about three other owners had this code fixed by injector replacement.

Take it to the dealer and they should replace it for free. I had a misfire on 4 and they fixed it under warranty. NO problems since, and I noticed better gas mileage and regained power.

If it has to go back enough times for the same problem within a certain amout of time then it falls under the lemon law.

It's at the dealer today. We will see what happens. Hopefully it is just a fuel injector.

No codes. Checked last night. Both dealerships here have had it probably a total of 5 times in the past 4 weeks. It's there now, they're going to try and "research" the issue. I mentioned to them about the fuel injector problem.

Coyoter, I hope yours comes back fixed. Our dealerships are pretty ignorant about the SRTs right now. Neither of our dealerships have really worked on them much so they say they aren't really familiar with the cars....

Got it back from the dealer and it is still not fixed. They said that they fixed it. Replaced the plugs and wires. Pulling out of the parking lot it the BOV started to blow off again during light excelleration. I mentioned the fuel injector problem as well, but obviosly they did not listen. They didn't even check the injectors. They checked compression, and then found TSB. Probably for the melting of the wires. My wires were fine. I am very frustrated. Anyone who drove that car had to notice how rough the idle was and BOV going off during light excelleration.

One more question. Could bad fuel cause this, because it didn't start happenning until I filled up at a different station. (and yes I used 93)
Thanks

coyo,

Crud, just hit me. I've been focused on drago. Sorry, here's your listAre you SURE it's the BOV? First thing to check is you OCC, a lot of times if one of those hoses becomes loose or comes off, it can cause these symptoms. A loose hose from the turbo to the intercooler can also sound kinda blowoffish. Also check all the vac lines on the soneoid pack. In that order. But the most likley culprit is the OCC.
