Question for the pro's

Asked due to possibility of leak in pcv valve (where you would install the catch can "dusty" refferred to). This is a symptom.
Do you have an increase in rpm's at idle?
I live in Glenolden in Delaware County, PA. I'll have to check for leaks I guess. I was going to a Wawa gas station using there gas, I just started using Sunoco 94 octane to see if that will do anything, still on first tank from them so it is too early to tell yet until I fill another tank up. What OCC do you guys recommend? Thanks.
The $20 OCC works just fine for most of us, unless you just want to be able to say you have a "Greddy OCC that costs $100....(and yes, there are people like that).
Just flip back several pages in this section for all the info, parts, pic, etc.
Or you can go to the "other" srt forum and search under the keyword "oil catch can".
Just don't buy the POS OCC listed on ebay........

Luckily for you, below 10psi is the point at which the book calls it a problem. Now for myself, I would be checking hoses and lines and troubleshooting myself. If you have no inclination or help, take it in. Do yourself a favor if you do though, ask to take the service advisor for a ride to demo the problem. Nicely of course
Otherwise the most likely scenario is a "Could not duplicate" signoff.
I've been running Wawa and Sheetz 93 octane for most of 43K on my car, with no issues, with occasional fillups from whomevers handy. While gas could conceviably be the cause of the boost drop,, the chances of it being so bad the PCM drops boost that far with no other symptoms is pretty slim.

I figured the problem out guys, I do not have a boost leak and it's not the gas. The problem is the boost gauge itself. When the car is off, it is still reading 8 inches of vacuum. So I am going to take the car in Dec. 9th for a new gauge. This I found out is a very common problem. Thank you everyone for the help. You guys and gals are very nice and welcoming.
