Default Tuner-style/3D taillamps for '05 SRT-4

My wife finally got her new orange-blast '05 SRT-4 Friday (side bags, sunroof, Kicker) in a D-C buy-back of her '03 SXT. Immediately she wanted the 'Tuner-Style' (3D?) taillamps she saw in the '05 Neon/SRT-4 sales brochure as an available option. The dealer parts guy said the lamps (I hope it was for both!) MSRP was $219 - my price ~$186.

Are these a 'simple' drop-in? I assume that the plastic push-rivets are all that hold the felt trunk liner in place... but what holds the central rubber cover between the lamps? Do the lamps come with new rivets? Thanks!

Now new rivets do not come with the kit and that is all that held it on.. although under my kicker sub it seemed it was glued. [sm=dontgetit.gif](I broke one myself but my Kicker sub holds the liner in place on the one I broke for now. As for the install pop off the liner, unscrew the 4 (I think it was 4) plactic bolt thingies, pull out the bulbs slide out the tails. Put the bulbs in the new tails, slide them back in put the plastic bolts back on. Pop the liner back on. ta da.

but what holds the central rubber cover between the lamps?
If your talking about the rubber seal around the tails, they are attached to the tail lights themselves and will be attached to the new ones as well.

$186 is a good price for the MOPAR 3d tails most I see are ~$200-210
I got the RX300 tails personally although, but the 3d tails install should be pretty much the same.

It's one of the easiest installs I have done period besides the 3rd brake light, any joe could do it if I can

they're very easy to put in. once you lift up the liner in the trunk, you'll see how they're held in and how to remove them. it took all of about 20 minutes to change them out.

one thing that i would suggest, which i didn't do and i now have to take them out again to do. when you remove the lights, you will see the lining that the lights sit on, it's a rubber piece that creates a seal. when you remove the old lights, get some silicone and put a lining of it on that rubber piece. you'll see the indentation from where the light sits, put the silicone on the indents. let it dry and then put in the new lights. this will help create a better seal, and won't allow water to get in there and travel down into the spare tire wheel well.

Very good point on install, put some silicone sealant where psi chick stated, but put it together wet. You will need new gaskets if you ever take them off, but it wont leak water. They are known for taillight gasket leaks.

That stuff is great for these kinds of things. It's never been good for valve covers in my experiences though.[:@]
