You can flip back thru this section and find several threads that will cover your question, complete with photos and diagrams. It's a popular topic since the need for a OCC on the SRT-4 becomes obvious once you drive it for awhile.....I just wonder why DCX didn't spend an extra dollar or two and install one at the factory.....

probably a few reasons Dusty...
1) cost
2) maintenance by owner

I mean, we are talking about a car that doesn't come with powered back windows... I am sure the cost thing is huge on this one... it may only be "$20-30" a car, but that is huge over a production run (heck, recall the Corvair, GM knew there was a problem and the fix was something cheap per car *I forget the amount* and did nothing so they could save costs *which backfired in the end*)... so it doesn't surprise me DCX wouldn't add it in...

plus, most people on this forum are good about it, but a lot of car owners wouldn't empty it regularly or know what it was.... then it becomes worthless...

I agree on having one... but I can see why DCX didn't put one on the car "stock"...

I'd definitely install one if I were you too. My intercooler was taken off by the body shop, and after only 4,000 miles I had a couple ounces of oil pouring out of it. Oil is ALL over this car. The OCC's help immensely. Some have more than others, and most have the ghetto one.

DON'T Fall for the idiot on Ebay selling his OCC's for a fortune. They're no better than anything else thats out there.

that's where mine is mounted. you can also mount it on the firewall next to the overflow tank. i find this to be easier to get at when i need to empty it.

Heres a detailed install on the Ghetto $20 OCC. People swear by them. One good part is that their clear and you can see just how much oil has accumulated.

Lots of folks here at DF have put on the $20 OCC.....there's a standing joke here that the bean counters at Campbell Hausfeld (the makers of the "ghetto" tank) are scratching their heads at the sudden rise in their sales......
