Short throw shifhter install Help!!!
It was a while ago when I did it. I had the Mopar STS and if that's what you have all you need to do is take the screws out of the center console and cup holders, take off the shifter ball (just pull it off), lift the console up and off, use the claw end of a hammer to pry off the bushings from the shifter cables and then unscrew the four from the old shifter, put in the new on and put it all back together in reverse of how you took it out.
Watch out for those damn black clips that hold the shifter cables to the shifter mechanism. They are a real bitch to get off! Don't be afraid to get a little rough with them, I used a set of pliers to pull them off there. Other than that, its just like Bildo said if you have the mopar STS.

the STS is a nice addition... it's ~$120 so the price isn't too bad... with the addition of new bushings it does make your car feel faster and cooler to drive (whether it actually helps performance I leave for others to argue)...
I recommend one... heck... I think it was the first mod I did to my car short of a K&N air filter... haha...

Cool! thanx for the help...i was told on other forums to go for a turbo timer b-4 n-e thing. although i DO want that oh so distinct sond of th BOV too...i just dont know in which direction to start
It makes your shifts so much cleaner than stock. I plan on getting one myself shortly. If you do order one, get the Booger bushings with it, youd be silly not to for the extra 20 bucks it would cost you. I want one next!! tee hee
The Mopar STS is easily worth it and makes a big difference in it's shifting. The $120 price is the price of the STS with the booger bushings.
A turbo timer is a complete waste of money if you ask me, you rarely will even come across the situation where it would even be useful. All it does is idle the car for a preset amount of time after you park it and shut it off. The only times where you need to let it idle before shutting it off is after running it hard, AKA: right after a race, or when you have been at freeway speeds and get to your destination immediately after getting off the freeway. If you hit a red light or two after getting off the freeway before reaching your destination, then you don't need to let it idle since it did while sitting at the light. Check in your owners manual, it gives you scenarios and cool down times for each if any at all. In normal driving you do not even have to let it idle to cool down, this was really just a problem with non-intercooled turbo cars to begin with. The intercooled turbos run much cooler and they also cool down far quicker, it works even better with CAI. The only time I see a turbo timer being worth the time, money and effort to install is if you take your car to the track and run it very often.
