Hey in 2 weeks I should have a new car. Is there anything I should be aware of while 'breaking' it in? Thanks.

 

Take it easy for the first 1000 miles. Don't get on it. 300-600 is adequate but I waited until 1,000. After that have some fun with her. the more you break her in the faster she'll become, up until around 10,000 miles. When you get your first oil change (at 500 miles when most do it) put in 5w30 Mobil 1 FULL synthetic.

Other than that you should be good to go. Be nice, then have some fun. But like I said youll notice it gets faster and faster until around 10,000 miles. A great lil feature of the car

And put an OCC on. $20 one does just fine. To fix the oil that travels where it doesn't belong.

LOL. It's silver. It seems the 05 model year didn't come in my screaming blue. I test drove the orange but, at my age it didn't quite appeal to me. I feel like the old man around here (most of you barely out of your teens and me being almost twice that). Well after the SHO i just wanted a new car that I could basically paurchase without undue car notes and this fit the bill. I will miss my cruise control though (very helpful on long rides).

Dont worry srt_ya I only rev with the best but not race with em. At my age I dont have time to be foolhardy at the expense of others. Only on the open highway will venture forth at open throttle every once in a while. As my salesperson was telling me the car seems to attract the very young. I am coming off owning a SHO which was fun to drive.

 

LOL You act like your 90! You can enjoy a car at any age. We have people not in their teens here. RIPSIGUY, Dusty, oldgeezer and 71RoadRunner, just to name a few. And on SRTforums theres SRTGURL, whos in her 40s, and Lucy, whos someones mom (no clue her age). The majority of us are young, but you can enjoy the car at any age at all.

OK sexy chick; I am just shy of 40. I will surely have pics posted as soon as i find a place to park the baby. I gave up my parking spot 2 yrs ago and now I have to file to get it back (damn coop board). I would hate to have that sitting on the street (and have some fool make a bumper car out of it). Oh well thats NYC for ya.

 

Hopefully I'll catch up with ya at the LI meet or another NYC meet. Once I get the car back I plan to travel a bit more with it, and the team, and meet some new SRT owners

 

Sure; you think you kids will let an older person play [8D]. Anyhow I just got back from dealer and I asked about the installation of the OCC (she said she would as tech) and also the price of the CAI (about the only 2 mods I want to do). I think later I will try for the K&N and maybe the the short throw shifter (to be honest I don't mind the feel rite now).
