My 08 Season Progress Thread
Well as fall/winter set in I figured it was time to overhaul a few things, add a few things, and re-vamp some stuff. Its been cold and funds aren't as expansive as I had originally planned, but nonetheless I went ahead with my ideas. I'll have plenty of pictures as I go
since Santa brought me a D40.Right as the show season came to a close it was time for me to start on things. I purchased a couple of small things at first- M3 Mirrors which I proceeded to custom paint- HVAC Leds (blue)- Odo/Trip Blue film- Stainless steel engine dress up pieces: oil dipstick handle, washer fluid resivor cap, coolant resivor cap, timing belt cover

Starting in November, my birthday rolled around and a few presents came to me. - Triple Pillar Pod- Prosport Smoked Blue LED Gauges: Oil pressure, Fuel pressure, EGT- CBD Glass rear diffuserSo I grabbed some SEM color matched paint from my local autobody supply guys, and sprayed it to match, then installed the gauges. However to get the fuel pressure gauge to work, I needed to buy some Earl's fittings -4an to -4an and a -4an to 1/8NPT and an 03 Fuel rail w/schrader. Only one sender is hooked up in this picture, but as of right now the only one waiting for warmer weather to install is the EGT. The second picture is the night I put them in, so no senders were hooked up yet.

Following this I decided it was time for some new bushings. I also decided that I needed the proper equipment for a better alignment. So I ordered and installed the following in December:- Full Energy Suspension Prothane Hyperflex bushing kit, in black- Mopar Performance Rear Adjustable Control Arms- Mopar Performance Camber bolts, 4 Front and 4 RearAfter taking the car for its initial ride, let me tell you it felt AMAZING compared to how it did before. Some of the best money I've spent. No pictures there though, nothing too exciting.Due to eye issues, and legailty from the state, I figured it was about damned time I got my front windows tinted. The lights at night and the sun were far too overbearing. I took it to the best tint shop in the state, and 20% it was:
Carrying on, I knew it was time for a new bumper, since mine has quite the plethera of rock chips. So I bought a new one, for shows. And purchased some paint while I was at it. After all I would need the paint for the CBD parts. So after buying all of my paint I brought the following parts to one of the best in RI to be painted (I didn't have the facility to do it otherwise I would have). I only have pictures of the bumper.- Brand new OEM bumper- CBD Rear Diffuser- CBD Fiberglass shorty eyelids
Whoever said neons weren't roomy?
Yet theres more. Currently, down in Texas sits a pair of black housing headlights. These headlights will contain 3" Valeo OEM HID Projectors with a 4300k H7 Kit, Chrome shrouds, and a blacked out housing. They should be here within two weeks. I took them all apart and then shipped them off to Texas to be finished:
And I'm not done yet. I've ordered quite a few more things, that I expect to all be here within the week, some have already arrived.- 4300K 880 HID Kit (for fogs)- Projector Fog Lamps w/halos- RockBlocker smoked fog light film- Stainless Steel hoodpins (plates installed)- RFR Bumper flares- Another OEM grille for the second bumperAnd the largest purchase of all, new wheels. R1 Racing Drift: 18x8" Black w/3.3" Mass Polished Lip 40mm offset.Tires: BFG G-Force Sport, I ordered a 235/40ZR18 hopefully those fit, if not I'll need the 225.
As everything progresses I will take pictures for you guys. I need to pick up little things here and there to get some stuff to install. Like speednuts and screws for the flares. But I figured I would post this since in three weeks time I expect it all to be installed and functional.
I'm so excited I can't wait. Opinions, questions, etc....are all welcomed

Thank you. No I'm not, I'm leaving them silver. The reason being is the match the color of the speedo/tach gauges, viper head on the shifterand the ring around the boost gauge as well. Here's the diffuser:

Everything except the embroidery in the seats, tint on the windows and powdercoating on the motor was done by yours truly. Yes I painted the entire car. Took me seven weeks back in 06 to complete it. I have lots of pictures of that too
Thanks Kapiltad, I wish I could, but....funds don't allow. I'd rather spend the cash on my baby then buy something else. But when funds do allow I'll probably pick up an LGT as a daily
I love those cars

Damn they sure do!! Ha ha I had no idea. I saw these first when I was searching for wheels with larger lips for FWD applications, so I grabbed em
As for today....nothing really all that exciting happened in the world of modifications. I took my "new" instrument cluster piece and HVAC bezel and attempted to paint them. Unbeknownst to me, the previous owner of the parts had used a silicone based dressing on them (i.e. armor-all) so the paint fisheyed like crazy. Once they cure tonight, I'm going to have to wetsand them way down and try again tomorrow. I'm re-doing them with a higher gloss clear coat so that the interior pieces match the exterior pieces much better. They currently have a matte clear on them, and though I liked it at first, I'm using a UPOL high gloss that will fit them much better.I've been waiting for a decent day to get under the rear of the car and paint the underside flat black. The car's e-coat has been visible for years, and it can cost you points in a show if things aren't as tidy, neat and flowing as they should be. So I cleaned it up, scuffed it up a bit, cleaned it again and sprayed. Here is the before and after product. In my opinion it flows much nicer. In these photos you can also see the Mopar Performance Rear Adjustable Control arms.

To end the day, I went out and took the last pictures that I may take of the "old look" of the car. These steel wheels are killing me! I can't wait to get them off! The mudflaps will be leaving too. Sad...but true

Oh and another notation: After I washed the car today upon further inspection its time for a new hood. The CBD CF hood has been with me for four years now, and its having a tough time not cracking. I'm in between two hoods right now, I will have chosen and ordered by tomorrow.
