lol well im not even gunna get into it more. go to the ls1 fourms and ask them how fast a stock ls1 is. ive proved to you that they can go over 160 and you have nothing to prove your point whatsoever.

I know I am a little late, but the only camaro hitting 170 stock is the SS and thats with some weight reduction and some mods.

 

well black if you READ the last 3 posts maybe you would learn something. i provided a spec sheet, i was at ATP when they dynoed a stock ws6 that hit 143 in 4th gear, and i rode in a slightly modded SS that did well over 160mph you have nothing. you just THINK they cant do whatever. im not going to aruge with you anymore. if you dont think that a car with over 300hp to the wheels that can hit 12's with good traction CANT go over 160mph then your just stupid.. say what you want but even the slower LT1 f-bodys hit over 150mph. scince you clearly have never raced a ls1 f-body you woudnt know what you talking about. if that car can hit 143mph in 4th gear alone why couldnt it go over 160 in 5th? 6th gear is the overdrive so there would still be some pull in 5th right? i guess you didnt read my last posts so please stop aruging with me beacuse you have no evidence to back your statement up.

 

Well, I did some research into the LS1 powered WS6 Ram Air Trans Ams and found exactly what I expected to find.

"The monstrous V-8 engine is at the heart of this speed demon, allowing it to burn rubber really fast, going from 0 to 60mph in 5.2 seconds (manual) and 6.0 seconds (automatic). Its top speed is also something to look at, because the Firebird Trans Am WS6 reaches an amazing164 mph, making it one of the fastest of our pocket rockets."

0-100 mph: 13.4 sec
Quarter Mile: 13.7 sec @ 107mph
Skidpad: .88g
Top Speed: 160 mph
Braking, 60-0 mph: 126 ft

These are from a 6 spd. equipped WS6 T/A.



On the ws6.com website one reported to have reached a top speed of 166 MPH on nitrous. It did not say what size shot of nitrous though.

And everything else I've found supports more of the same, nothing shows either LS1 F-body cars running in the 170+ MPH range regardless of year or transmission. I have found my overwhelming amounts of proof listed above to disprove your 170+ MPH claims.

 

what can i say they all say we can only go 148mph too dont they? well we proved those number wroung too. i stand corected i guess i been racing some insane modded F bodys out here then. i guess thats why they call them SUPER sports well you guys win scince i have no idea what im talking about. i guess ill go out and start smoking 300zx twin turbos and twin turbo supras cuz those only run high 14's so theres no way they can go over 140mph right? i guess ill murder those on the freeway. scince a SS makes more hp to the wheels and is lighter and runs a faster 1/4 i guess ill be able to beat those Supras/300zx no problem. http://www.engine-power.com/dodge/neon_srt4.html ,then here is the ws6 AGIAN http://www.engine-power.com/pontiac/firebird_ws6.html , id say the specs are right on with the srt-4 it even says the 2003 top speed is 150 stock so why would they be off on the trans am? would they just make it up? just for the hell of it here a STI http://www.engine-power.com/subaru/impreza_wrx_sti.html looks right to me from what i seen. i guess they just made up those specs.

 

If you noticed, all of my top speed quotes for the LS1 WS6 T/A 6-spd. are actual tested numbers and not advertised, estimated or theoretical numbers. The 148 MPH top speed for the SRT-4 is an advertised number from Dodge that claims they are electronically limited which has been proven false in every actual test. The other lowball top speed numbers for the SRT-4 have been followed by the terms electronically limited, drag limited or estimated. All true tests of the SRT-4's top speed range from 153 MPH to above 160 MPH. There is a big difference between tested and proven facts and hypothetical, theoretical, estimated and advertised numbers.

You have one site you've quoted 3 times and I can tell you right now that they have never tested any one of these cars in reality, just look at their numbers, they are quoted from the manufacturers. I have never seen anyone, including myself, get 22-30 MPG in an SRT-4, these numbers are straight from Dodge, they are not actual tested numbers. So you have one bogus BS site backing up your claim and I have several sites devoted to the LS1 WS6 T/A backing up my claims with proven tested facts. Every site and scrap of information I have found on them says the exact same thing I have quoted above, both tested and proven fact as well as claimed and not proven.

FYI: The 175 MPH top speed they have listed is one of those theoretical top speeds and not an actual tested and or proven top speed. Did you know that theoretically if there was a road that could loop and run upside down, the McLaren F1 has enough downforce and airflow characteristics that it could remain on that road even upside down at top speed. But then again this is just theoretical and has never been proven.
