Default Speedo/Odometer concerns

Hey guys and gals I am a newbie to the Mopar world but so far i am loving it.

I have a friend who has a 2005 Srt-4. It has 43,000 miles on it. About 7 months ago the tranny literally detenated. Upon removal we found the clutch had been replaced and the throw out bearing had not been grease. The throw out bearing was found twisted sideways in the forks. She just recently dropped her ENTIRE tax return check plus more into getting the car back on the road. The car is running great now but she has one problem. Randomly while riding down the road the speedometer will start to jump around.it will do it for a few seconds and then the speedo just drops to 0 mph. Once it drops to 0 the Odometer stops working... While installing the new tranny only one connector was found to be broken and it has been fixed since. The car been on the road for about 2 weeks with no MAJOR problems. The problem just started recently and random as hell. The local Dodge dealership wants WAY to much money to diagnosis it becasue they did not install the tranny of course. We have local buddies who are avid srt-4 fans and even they are left scratching their heads...Can anyone help me out?

check the speed sensor on the tranny, sounds like it's either loose or it's shorting out.

how much did dodge charge for a rebuid? actually both myself and my boyfriend just had to rebuild both of ours (he had the 3rd gear issue, i had a snapped input shaft). it was expensive but not THAT bad.

naw when i said literally detenated it blew the whole front of the case off...blew the starter back, cracked the intake manifold in 5 places, flattened the radiator and a/c condensor. it twisted the 4 fly wheel bolts slam off.it had two bolts holding it to the block and the one tranny mount on the driver's side thats it. we had to replace it all... over 6 grand worth of parts...but other than this problem it runs like a dream

Someone had put a SACH aftermarket clutch in the car and one night playing around girl's husband popped the clutch well needless to say the throw out bearing twisted in the pressure plate fingers and locked everything up. When we got it apart the throw out bearing had absolutely no grease on it what so ever.
