I live in az and its about to get insanely hot so i put a 180 thermastat in but it still seems to run about 200 or barely over... Is this normal or what?

Sure is. Switch your low fan on (by tripping the relay and running a switch) at all times in order to get the 180 to operate properly. I've had a 180 in mine for over three years, my car never sees 200.

it's called the fan switch mod. it's been around since about 2003 when we first started doing things to these cars. tap into the light blue/pink wire in the harness and run a line into the cabin, ground a switch and mount. it's pretty easy.

Where is this harness located? And is there a way to make it so the fan runs when the cars is on automatically? Or does it have to be to a toggle? I think i will forget to turn it off....

i'm not sure what you mean by the fan being on automatically? that's the point of the switch. you can turn it on and off whenever you want. it doesn't stay on when the car's off if that's what you're talking about.

the harness is the big bunch of wires that sit right above the ecu. can't really miss it, it's like two inches wide. just take off the tape and find that blue/pink wire. it should be the only blue/pink one in there so it's pretty easy to spot.

If you don't want to mess with the harness, you can also run a wire to the fuse box. In the fuse box, the big black relay closest to you (If standing on drivers side), you can simply put one end of a wire into where the prong closest to youplugs in. Damn, this is challenging to type out. I will see if i can find / take a pic. Just make sure the wire is a healthy gauge. Tehn run that to a toggle, and then run a wire from that toa ground. This will only turn on one of the fans, but one is plenty....

the fan turns off with the car, no killing the battery. i leave mine on pretty much all the time, other than when i go down the track.
