Default Hey everyone, New here and want to talk mileage

I am going to be in the market for an SRT 4 this summer to early fall. Looken for new and haven't seen much about how many miles people have on their SRT 4.

Can a car like this last 3 to 4 years and 100,000 miles? I drive only with Mobil one in the crank (after break in of course) and change it often. (every 3 to 4 K). Car will be a daily driver with some 500 to 800 mile trips. I like to hit it once in a while (love those stop lights!!), no race tracks and take over all very good car of my rides.

The others I am looking at are:
Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 4 Door
Mustang GT
Possibly the Magnum with a hemi

But the big winner so far is the SRT 4. Gotta love the performance and gas mileage!!

Thanks in advance for any replies.

45K since Feb 03 (about 2 years) with only two minors hiccups. Runs strong.

The motor and tranny are as strong as you could hope for. Just put an oil catch can on it and you should be good for several years.....I admire the Mustang GT as well, I had an '87 model and it was sweet. I have a feeling the new one will be like the VW Bug, one on every corner.....ho-hum........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzz.

Treat any car like crap its not gonna last. Treat a car good and take good care of it and it will last.

Hey thanks for the reply. Every bit helps. That mustang keeps get'en my eye but after doing the yearly cost of gas the SRT 4 will probably make the cut.

Is the SRT 4 going to be around after the 2005 model?

Anybody else with any input would be greatly appreciated.

You also get a better 7 year/ 70,000 mile warranty if you can come across an '04 SRT-4, they cut it down for the '05's.[:@]

Thanks again for the responses. I am crunching the numbers now to see if I can pull ahead the plan for the SRT. I figure the lots would still have a few in May. I talked to one dealer which stated that orders for 2005 would probably end in March Soooo, that doesn't leave much time....

Red SRT with the high back buckets, kicker stereo and sun roof. Going for all the options. I probably will pop up here with a questioin or two.... when I get it. I like to turn my own wrenchs....
