could be but spark blow out won't cause you to hit a certain rpm and stop. fuel cut however will.
just because you raised the boost doesn't necessarily mean that you'll hit fiel cut at the same time. it's dependant on a lot of factors, especially since you're on s0 and still have factory controlled boost. so temperature and humidity play a huge roll in when you'll hit fuel cut.
your best bet at this point is to lower boost to stock levels and get a wide band so you can see what's going on. you shouldn't be messing with boost without one anyway. change your plugs and wires just to be on the safe side for now, and get rid of that msd coil.
