All Neon's from '95-'98 needed the head gaskets replaced.

The SRT-4's need to have the plug wires replaced, they burn up due to heat. Get the MSD Super Conductors for $40 and you'll get more spark energy to the plugs and you can't burn them out.

That guy is ripping you off. I just bought an '04 here at seaside dodge for 23600 out the door. I didn't negotiate and they didn't mark it up. I got the sunroof option in a silver. I love this car to death. I would not buy an '03 at all as the blue book is like 13000. Look for a used online. With 8k miles I saw one on autotrader for 16500. Don't do it. Those guys up north are nuts! Just wait and find a good place that will do a dealer trade. This dealer here and the one in Gilroy don't mark up and will search for you until they find one you are satisfied with. I got my loan at 5.25. Not the lowest but it beat my credit union. I have been wanting this car since it came out. Trust me, if it's meant to be you won't regret it.

Hey Pat, I have forgotten where you are at (and I am too lazy to go back one page and look), But i just bought my 04 red SRT-4 from Berry Chrysler in Corsicana , TX 75110 (you can go to the mopar website and do a dealer locater for their 1 800 #) I paid well below sticker. I promise you. My sticker says $20,995. TTL and all I paid $20,870. I got that at wholesale because we (my family & I) by about six cars a year there. (we are a real mopar family, and we don't like many miles on our cars so we trade alot) Lynn Berry, the owner, will not sell for anything above sticker. He would probably give you a belpw sticker price if you wanted to come from that far away... Also, If he does not have exactly what you want, they will order it from the factory for you. It takes 6 weeks to get there, and the window sticker will say, Made especially for Pat _________. It is pretty cool. We have ordered a few cars like that if you can stand the 6 week wait time. Let me know what you think...

Hey doof432, thats a great deal! I got mine from rockwall dodge. My sticker price was 22500 with sunroof and side curtain airbags. I got mine for 20200 and they threw in a $600 dollar alarm system. When you get yours I recommended the dallas dodge speedshop. I know its a good drive but the guy that runs the speedshop will take care of you (tell him alex with the black srt4 sent you). I hope you can last six weeks

Yeah, anyone who pays more than MSRP is too lazy to shop around or lives in a very expensive part of the country. Mine ran $20,650, which was the sticker, and the dealership is the type that doesn't haggle on prices. A very pleasant car buying experience, for a change...[sm=smiley1.gif]

Did the dealer tell you about the type of oil to use and the built-in alarm?

After I purchased the car they sent out an installer and had my alarm installed. Real swanky lojack alarm. They never told me anything about what oil to use. I guess I'll talk to the service manager when I go up there for my free oil change.

He told me about the oil, which I already knew and do use Mobil 1 synthetic. I also knew of the alarm, but he never mentioned a word about any built in alarm. Doesn't the car need to be taken in and something done to it to activate the alarm and how exactly does it work, does it activate the alarm when you use the remote to lock the doors?

Yeah, unless you have the right tools and know what to type in, the dealer will have to do it. I read some detailed information on it at another web site, but I don't recall at the moment the name of it...but heck, today is my day off and it's raining outside so give me a little time and I'll get back to ya...
