SRT toys for a girl...
So I am currently sitting a few thousand miles away from my girlfriend, and her birthday is coming up in a couple of months so I gotsta come up with something to get her... Now normally I would jump to jewelry or roses, but that is a little played out... I already got her a pool cue last year, so that logically leaves go fast toys for her car... That said:
1) I have read wildly disperate opinions on K&N filtercharger kits... what is the consensus?
2) At what point do the stage 1,2 and 3 upgrade kits from dodge start jacking with the warranty?
3) What are the widest tires that can safely be fit to the stock rims? Has anyone found a z rate with good wet weather traction?

!) I have the K&N and love it.
2) If you are worried about the Warranty dont mod the car. Unless you have really good friends at the dealer you can get it void for anything including stage 1
3) I dont really know about the tires. In my opinion i love the stock tires i have gone threw big pudles at 80 and they just shove threw no hydro with these babay's
Good Luck i hope you get sopmething she loves.

1. k&n is ok, sits too low in the wheel well for my liking.
2. the dcx rep can restrict the warranty for anything and evrything if they're so inclind. if you're concerned about the warranty, stay stock.
3. a 215 is the widest i would go, and that's even pushing it. the 205 is really the safest, widest tire to go on that rim, and even then a 195 series would be a better fit on a 6" rim. if you want something larger than stock i would definetly suggest going with a wider rim. i have toyo proxes 4, they're an ultra high performance all season tire, and they are z rated. they do very well in the rain.

The K & N Typhoon CAI is great, I love mine.
The stock tires are Z rated and they are great in wet weather, but they are not all season and are very dangerous in snow and ice. Dry and wet weather they grab like velcro and don't want to let go.

Will I live down in Tejas so ice and snow are not much of an issue. Unfortunately it does not rain much down here so alll the oil that accumulates on the roads does not get washed off... so when it does rain it is slick as crap. Last time I picked my girl up and we drove back to my place in her car I got that love floating sensation a few times on the highway... this makes her real nervous, I just steer into it and use a little throttle manipulation, but she is not quite as adept a driver as I yet... until recently she viewed vehicles that she owned as almost purely utilitarian. The SRT is displaying wet weather charecteristics that are markedly worse than her old honda was, and I can only put it down to tires... mind you she has only got a couple of thousand on then, so maybe they are still a little slick.
I just put PERELLI's on our SRT-4. I stayed with the 205 but went 45 series 17's. I've already bent 3 rims on this fawkin' car so, I don't know if THATwas a very smart choice, but, I really like these tires so far. We are still undecisive about rims. All I know is anything above 17's don't offer Road hazzard, and I'm not going to buy another stock rim for this damn car... grrrrrrrr... ANY WAY, I think it's FAWKING AWESOME that you want to buy toys for your woman... I myself hate shopping, but you can turn me lose in an off road store, a dirt bike store, or a music store and I'll go crazy... now, since we got this SRT-4 last September, I get a little crazy for Turbo Toys on line, so far, I haven't went on a shopping spree....
(looks around and snickers.....) YET!!!

a good bov would be a good gift.... put it on her car for her... it shouldnt void the warranty either, but no real performance gains from it.... just the cool sound.
