Default OCC help

i already have an OCC in my car and when i opened the white filter i saw a thick residue so i just decided to cut out the tip of the white filter.do you think is better if i just take them out or just leave the tip cutted?im just curious because when i look at my OCC i saw the air at the top of my bowl flowing like waves around the bowl and i was thinking if im gonna take the white filter out it might suck into the outlet hose..what do you think?

if you have an aftermaket intake then i would suggest 2 OCCs, one on the pcv side and one on the intake side.

Yes take the filter out. For some reason it will catch more oil. Please don't ask way because I have no idea why it just does.

I use to have the filters in mine, but I recently removed them since it seemed as though the oil might have been wicking through the filter and some getting past it.

Good point, RR - I am surprised I haven't heard a comment about the wicking effect of the filter - it would explain perfectly the fact that it works better without it.

I didn't know how it would do at first, the filter is hard like plastic, but the oil did soak through it because I checked the plastic opening inside the filter and it had oil residue suggesting to me that some has gotten through. This is why I have removed the filter. Judging by the OCC's design I'm thinking it might be better, less likely for oil to get through to the outlet, if I were to install it in reverse flow, since there is no filter the direction of flow doesn't matter and will flow the exact same amount of air in either direction.
