exhaust loop
I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything major about it like a solution to backflow, because none of the other exhaust systems (borla-magnaflow) have the little loop, they just split and go straight to the tips.
I think they were bored and decided to get all fancy with the mandrel bender, because thats all they had to do was split it like the aftermarket exhausts. It might be to help quiet it down a little, the more it has to go through the quieter it gets.
the replacement kit from MOPAR doesn't have the loop either! so yeah they were probably bored out of there mind one day and said lets create the tail pipe now. and got a little creative.[&:]

Yeah, it's to impress first time buyers who know nothing about cars. I can hear the salesman now, "Look at this custom designed, high tech exhaust system!!"
Owwwww!
Awwwww!

I noticed that it is also made that way to distribute the exhaust gases equally to both sides, to avoid how some dual outlet exhausts blow mostly out one side which looks kinda odd.[sm=smiley5.gif]

I had an '83 Mustang with a 302 in it that did that. The engine took forever to heat up in the cold Montana weather and all the exhaust seemed to come of of the driver's side pipe
making the pipe on the passenger's side look like it was fake.
