Default motor mounts?

I've heard that motor mounts are a good first step to reduce wheelhop. Any suggestions for brand or type?

It will help, in some cases it will get rid of all the wheel hop, but in most cases it will just reduce it. This goes for both solid mounts and motor mount inserts. I really like my Prothane race inserts, but they only reduced it in mine and for some they eliminate the wheel hop. Either way they will make a noticeable difference in the way your car launches, it will grab and go without the rubber band launch feeling. They will also transmit more vibration, not much though, and sound which will make your exhaust sound louder inside the car.

I also use the prothane race inserts... best 25 bucks you could spend for you car. you can feel the car better with them to add to what rr said.

Same here, it was the best $25 spent. The only other mod this cheap is the OCC and it improves the engines lifespan and future performance. The other really cheap mods are the MSD wires and strut tower braces, followed by the Mopar STS and then the K & N Typhoon CAI.

psi-fi dogbones.

inserts are just not worth it if you plan on doing any semi-major upgrading. just the addition of s2 will make the inserts useless. i had inserts for about a year. they reduced wheel hop, but not all that much. plus i managed to completly destroy my lower mount with them in. they're ok for the normal driver that doesn't race at the track or really any pulls on the street, but if you plan on tracking the car, get a solid mount. the difference is quite noticable.

I agree completely on the s2 comment. I thought the prothanes were enough and they were definitely a good 25$ purchase, until s2 w/toys and some other stuff. Now - I think I'll be upgrading to actual mounts myself, shortly.

For what it's worth, I have prothane inserts and stage 2 and they work just as good as they did the day I installed them. That's not to say a complete replacement wouldn't be better, but the inserts are still enough to do the job in my case.
