Im on the stock tires w/34 psi, feeling like it wanders a bit. Just scared of overinflating them n bending up my wheels.
What pressure are you guys running on the street?

 

i use like 40-43psi... 15-18 at the track.

 

I personally run 39-40 in the front and 35-36 in the rear. I have arrived at this pressure setup by marking the sidewall and doing cornering excercises on the street, checking the wear, and adjusting pressure until it was optimum. This is a handling setup. This will not necessarily give you the longest wearing tire, but you definitely will push far less than at 34lbs. You will also lose a little initial bite, so if you are going for straight line performance you may want to keep it around 34 or even lower.

My suggestion to you would be - get some white liquid shoe polish and mark the tire, and see how far into the sidewall it rolls. You will enjoy the process of optimizing your grip and have a cheap, simple way to quantify your results.

 

Gump, you really only go with 15-18 at the track. I never been to the track yet but wow that is low.

 

i use 40 for the street. at the track i run dr's, and i have those around 16psi. when i was on street tires i would bring them down to about 18-20 for the fronts, and put the rears up to about 45.

 

I'm on 225/40R18 All Seasons. Running 32psi all around. The ride isnt bad at all, and I couldnt see pumping them up anymore. My sidewalls are still completely intact, without any wear on them at all. Actually the tires have 11,000 miles on them and youd never even know if you saw them they look brand new.

 

on an 18 i could see running 32. i found that with my tires i needed to increase it. i have the toyo proxes 4, and they have a rather soft side wall, so i needed the extra pressure to ensure even wear. what tires are you running?

 

Whatever came with the rims. They're called Ultra GT. I figured I'd buy better tires when these wore out. But I absolutely love them. I've never been happier with a tire in my car lifetime (3 vehicles). They grip well, they're awesome in water, and they don't pull at all. Even RIPSIGUY was impressed at how well they performed for a "no name" tire. Though there are only 3 major tire manufacturers in the world, its just not a name brand. The tread pattern is pretty sweet too.

Another SRT-4 owner Chris from down south in RI was also pretty surprised at how well my tires were compared to his stock ones. They're shockers these little guys. Eventually I'll get some new ones when these wear down to 1-2/32nd. But my Ultra GT's Rawk! LOL
