Default Boost issues?

Hey, Guys i know its been awhile... military[sm=imsorry.gif]

My concern is im not reaching max boost on my stage II[sm=wtf.gif]. The temp here is reaching the 70's and all i get max is 12psi's on 2 & 3 settings on the dial-a-boost (didnt have a problem last year). I checked for boost leaks on all the pipping, i have a leak check solution, and everything is fine. I have spoken to one of my friends at my Car Club[sm=gears.gif]. he told me i might have to adjust my wastegate... but prob with that is i never had to
So, im asking for you guys/gals opinion...

Thx
Roach

I just had the same experience. My s2 wga was set at 4mm and worked well for a while, but a few weeks ago I lost some boost and power. I messed around with the wga and ended up setting it at 3 mm and all is well again. I guess the spring can weaken/break in over time? I'd give it a shot.

i wasnt aware that the wastegate will lose adjustment once it was set in place. Also, how do you adjust the stage II's wastegate if you think that may be the issue?

thx

Adjusting your wastegate will cure your low boost problem.

First take off your stb if you have one.
1 pull off the heatshield over the turbo(5 10mm bolts - they are a bit tough)
2 pull the pin out of the arm of the wga,
3 pull the arm off of the wastgate
4 put an adjustable wrench on the flat end and a 13 mm wrench on the locknut and crack them so you can adjust it
5 use a 12mm(i think) wrench or socket wrench to loosen the two bolts on the wga (this will make it easier to re-attach the arm)
6 mark the arm (when it is unattached) where it sits flush to the wga so you can see how far it pulls out when you re-attach it
7 try loosening or tightening the adjustable end until you have 3mm of preload when everything is re-attached and tightened. - try loosening the end a turn and a half (that is what worked for me)
8 leave the shield off and test it for a bit (driving) and re-adjust until you are satisfied with the boost.

p.s. - definitely give the car time to cool sufficiently before doing this ( I know, duh, but a friend of mine actually burnt his hand grabbing the wga arm)

Glad to be back:[sm=lildevil.gif]

Just as an update, i checked the wastegate and the Scribe acutator is flushed with the canister. i re-checked the instructrtion, as well as yours, but the arm doesnt wanna pull off and the Scribe is still flushed. i tried swiveling the arm, but no results. any other angles you suggest. Cause if i damage this one, i still have the factory wastegate till i ordere an AGP one.

Thnx
