Looking for performance info on the SRT-4
New member here and looking for some info about the SRT-4. I recently rode in a guy's SRT-4 (not sure what year) and he had done a couple things like BOV, aftermarket intercooler, and a couple other things (not sure what exactly). Anyways, being an american muscle (V8) fan I was impressed by the power of these little engines. What kind of 1/4 times do these run from stock up to the stage 3? This is a little off the topic but another friend of mine (different SRT-4) claims that from a roll like 60 - 100 that he could be within a car length of me on my '05 Suzuki GSX-R 750. Now I know this bike runs low 10's in the quarter and tops out around 170 and this guy can't have more than $5K into his car...is he full of crap? I would think that a car that weighs about that much would need at least 500 horsepower to compete w/ my power to weight ratio. Any ideas? Sorry for the long thread.

I don't know about keeping up with the gsx-r 750 at any speed, as far as acceleration goes. But -I can tell you from experience (the other day) that from a 20 mph roll, and from a 50 mph roll, a srt-4 with s2, 60mm tb, 3" catless dp, and a couple of other small improvements will pull away from a 2003 anniversary Corvette.
The car is fast, I just don't know about sportbike fast.

stock - 13.8-14.0
s1 - 13.5-13.8
s2 - 12.8-13.5
s3 - 11.9-12.5
there is quite a bit of range on the times mainly due to difference in driving abilities as well as what tires people are running. you'll obviously have lower times if you run slicks as opposed to street tires. these times also vary due to track conditions and supporting mods. there is a lot of variability in the times.
he's full of crap. the fastest times to date are like mid 11's. if you have a low 10s bike he can't keep up.

Thanks for the replies...low 12's w/ only a little bit of money (around $3K)...that's damn impressive for a 4 cylinder. As for the bike I did a little test today to see where I am at 60 mph and I'm still in 1st at 9000 RPM w/ plenty more to spare so I think I just answered my own question...I would destroy him and basically every other car out there unless it's pushing like 600+ horsepower. So what top speed are these cars capable of? I used to have a '94 Z28 that would top out around 155 - 160 in 5th gear (redline) but not in 6th (geared too low). In case you haven't figured it out I'm really considering buying an SRT-4 [:-]
if you listen to dodge the top out at 148, but that's not quite true. a few people have taken it up to 160 or a little higher. those guys over in germany go play on the autobahn all the time and regularly hit 150+

Just replying to an earlier response: i hit 153mph/251kph @ 5700 rpm's before i had to slow down cause of traffic on the Autobahn.
