im debating gutting the car.. how much weight has someone saved with back seat removeal/carpet/door panels eltc. if i can save over 50lbs from taking the stuff out from the driver seat back id consider it and put a cage in.. anyone acutlly weigh the seats/panels ect?

 

It'll be over 50lbs for sure. But, im not goin that route... good luck

 

You could easily drop 50 lbs. by removing some items like you mention.

 

Add to that removal of the tar under the carpet and you'll drop another 20 lbs - but remember the cost is loss of sound deadening. With all that you can remove back there, I bet you'll surpass 100 pounds, no problem.

Geez PostHondadude....I was gonna say loose thirty pounds with the spare and the jack (I weighed it), but you kinda of covered all the bases.

 

i removed the rear seat, spear tire and jack and weighed in at 2960 with me in it at the track last season.

 

looks like im going to gut it takes away function but oh well. my cage will probly add 30lbs to what i took out.

 

The only thing I remove is the spare tire. I put it in for long trips which is rare.

 

I have no spare tire or jack either. I'm not about to gut my car completely, and lose safety features (airbag) for 2 10ths of a second....

The only thing not on that list that would be removeable and is a "stock" part, would be the Kicker sub/amp/box combo and applicable brackets.

 

i say gut all but A/c and airbag and put racing seat(s) but keep the steering wheel
