I just bought a used one need some help here
Hey guys, i just got one of these awsome 03 srt4s to play with but i really want to beef this thing up! I need to know a couple things first, like if i wanted the stage 3 kilt do i need the stage 2 first? aslo does anyone know how much it is? is it bennificial to change out stock air intake? whats is the best way of me going to get the best bang for my buck concept. What should i do first second so on. i know right now i really want to lower this bitch about 2 inches with tien springs. Cant wait to hear from ya. And o ya i cant wait to race someone credible with this car, im sick of toying with stands and jetta tdis and celicas and **** come on now step up to the plate then run like hell! Thabks guys!!![8D]
Congrats on ya purchase.
You dont need stage2 for stage 3. The price for stage 3 vary form what you looking for? Check out moparsupercenter.com or just type, under yahoo, SRT-4 Stage 3 (the list is pretty long). Its beneficial to change out the stock air box. Lost of guys/girl here would say the same. but if you're going for the stage 3, upgrade ya exhaust 1st. I have Tien S on my ride with DC Strut Bars. Your choice of which direction you wanna take ya car is unlimited. My advice: start with purchasing bolt-ons before advancing (i.e internals)
Listen, a stock srt will smoke even some modified jettas, celicas, hondas, etc.

The order in which you want to do things is up to you, some may want to get to doing the suspension before doing the power building and vice versa. The first things you should do is an oil catch can and MSD plug wires, after this it's all up to you. Some of it depends on how far you want to go with the horsepower, but I'm gonna guess pretty far if your looking to get Stage 3. With max power in mind and Stage 3 (I highly recommend it with toys) being one of your mods, then you should get a good 3" turbo back exhaust as well as K & N Typhoon CAI. A good larger throttle body and extrude honed intake manifold will get it breathing better. The strut tower braces will help out as will the Mopar STS and you'll probably want to go with solid motor mounts. A larger front mount intercooler will keep the charge cooler. And to really improve handling, don't forget to swap out the old rubber bushings for nice new polyurethane ones.

Not meaning to highjack this guys thread but, I was thinking of getting that full 3" exhaust system from MPx and start saving up for the stage 3 turbo whenever I get my SRT-4. Other than the oil catch can and better plug wires, what are some mods that are felt by most people as necessary mods before going straight to stage 3 from the new exhaust system. (this is still planning months ahead lol)
The only thing I have to say about getting a 3" exhaust system is this.
Mopar's staged upgrades, which with the Stage 3 with toys has you near/over 300hp, only require the Mopar Borla catback exhaust system, which is a 2.5" system.
The 3" systems, especially the CTI are obnoxiously loud, and unless your seeking out extreme gains in the horsepower area, its not a neccessity.
Mopar Stage 3 is around $3500, with a painstakingly long, but simple install.
As for lowering springs/coilovers, the Tein S-techs give a HORRIBLE ride, along with both eibach kits. The eibach ride is alot harder than Teins, but the Tein makes you feel like your riding around on a bouncy ball with four wheels on it. Really quite annoying after awhile. I have ridden in, and driven cars with both of these setups, and other setups. And I find the Mopar S1 to give the perfect visible drop, without sacrificing too much of your bumper in hilly spots, and while still retaining the stock ride.

LOL I try...most of the time Im just plain retarded.
Biopulse, Neccessary mods?
Plugs, wires, catch can (one or more), exhaust, intake, etc etc. I'd also suggest some type of motor mounts, be they inserts or solid, wider tires/rims for more traction capabilities...putting down 230hp and having 205 series tires sometimes if not all the time just doesnt make any sense. Id also consider beefing up the suspension/chassis. Some strut tower bars, sway bars, etc just to keep that power where you want it....not in a culvert somewhere off the side of the highway/track.
Basic mods that you would do to any vehicle are "neccessary" to keep your S3 running optimal. PSIChick has the S3, but also has a slew of mods behind it. She could tell you with 110% positivity exactly what she has thats neccessary, and what she added on just for the extra kick.

sorry i haven't been around to respond to this, i was away this weekend. actually up in your neck of the woods sexy.
anyway, necessary s3 mods. solid motor mounts, wider rims and tires, springs are ok but co's are a much better choice, and an exhaust. those are what i would say are really necessary. the other stuff is great and does help out, but those things are what will help keep things under control. the rims/tires are needed because you just need bigger tires on this car, mounts will reduce wheel hop, and exhaust will let it breathe. yes, mopar recommends only the borla 2.5", but a dp and o2 housing really help in this department. the springs/co's aren't necessary to run properly, but in all honesty are necessary because the *** of this car likes to come loose, and with s3 this happens a lot more. also, it helps reduce weight transfer which also helps keep traction.
