My point was, the hype they've given it, the numbers it puts down, and the way it performs, just dont match that 25k price tag. And the installation of system, which once hooked up and filled voids all warranties is ludicrous.

Crackbaby, you as a modifier (instead of using the word "tuner"), should know that buying a car like the N20 focus takes all the fun out of the game. The exterior/interior/engine are already done for you, and your not unique in any way.

I think the point they're trying to get across is, for 25,000 dollars? Why even bother?

I never bashed ford in this thread, I merely stated that Saleen never should have put their name on it. I also mentioned how I wasn't a fan of their cars. Its just the styling that isnt my taste at all, but the trucks rock. And yes every single manufacturer has its lemons. But this Focus is a disgrace to their company. The Saleen S7 is a BEAUTIFUL car....absolutely gorgeous, put a focus next to that, or the saleen mustang...its just not even right. I understand their trying to reach out to the younger crowd, but still....reach out a bit differently, and lower the price tag on your car, because for that price, no ones gonna buy it.

why you ask? because this is a DODGE FORUM. not a FORD FORUM. if newbies wanna go cry about bad mouthing Fords, there are forums for that which are not biased towards dodges. this car is another Lame *** attempt by ford to compete with the rest of the world's performance cars. its bad enough that they built that pile of Crap GT that had wheels falling off...now they released the first decent looking mustang in 30 years...only to start another generation of mouthy ****** who go by the "if it aint a mustang, it aint sh!7"...yet it gets pounded by the high end GTO...the Evo....so on. saleen slaps theyre name on this because they, like ford (and ford owners) have no integrity or individuality. one of my few pleasures in life has always been getting to watch mustang owners break engines and crash at the drag strip because they jumped from a modded civic to a cobra, and they expect it to act the same...because in the long run, mustang owners are just ricers with a few more cylinders. this focus just gives those mustang ricer morons a chance to fulfill their ricer destiny.

so yeah, not to bash mopar owners or anything because i currently am one, but ford has some of the best machines built for speed out there. They know what there doing, i have been to dearborn everyear to see what they have in their garage to put on the new cars and its amazing. The 2007 lightning is going to have a switch to shut off the AC clutch and throw freon into the intercooler for an instant 50 Hp, SVT is still working on their V10 to squeeze it into the mustang so they can be considered an NA car(instead of using supechargers) and compete with the viper, seeing as dodge is taking a lot away from them. ford is lacking performace now but in the coming years they will be a first for everything on there SVT vehicles. and anyway, when you all make fun of "ford" for making an Saleen focus, well saleen is an individual company, it's their choice to built it that way and do and ford just agrees to let them release it and keep it under warranty. So until the years that follow When SVT comes back into the game please anything performace remember that it not ford directly building it, its an outside company. as a soon to be engineer for ford i can tell you this, they will always try their hardest to be on top, and the V10 mustang is going to get them their, if any of you have seen it, it was in a Mustang 5.0 mag about 2 years ago, they had the engine in a 99 stang body and the number were incredible, so study up on it, i am sure you will be seeing it in the future.......

 

ford is gonna...ford is gonna...ford is gonna...if ford is going to hire someone who cannot figure out the correct usage of the word "there"..."there" welcome to you. this V10 mustang is a concept. dodge has ridiculous concepts that will never be built as well. just because you saw something in some ford ricer mag, does mean anything as far as production. if it was developed two years ago, and has not made any strides to hit the public, it likely never will, sort of like the razor. also, theyre going to brag about "someday having a V10"? too bad dodge already did it. ford is always playing catch up in the high end performance market. and do you think that in the year 2008 ford is suddenly going to release a 1999 mustang with a V10? NO.

the mustang is fine for some high school girl whose daddy buys her a pretty new GT for her sweet 16, and she can open a jegs magazine and point at things and daddy will buy it for her. so she can roll around anywhere USA's mainstreet and rev on people, just like the ricers do. that is who buys a mustang...someone who doesnt know enough about cars to do more than point at bolts-ons in a catalog. that is why mustang owners deserve no respect, because 99.9% of them know nothing about their car. they pay some shop to install things like CAIs and STS's, and take it home and have their "boys" drop some 10s in the trunk...and 'they fly as sh!7 now!'

so youre telling me that the SVT lightning (which was supposed to debut some two years ago but ford couldnt get the "bugs" worked out) is going to have basically an intercooler sprayer which sprays the intercooler? first of all, the amount in the AC system is so small, and so tightly pressurized that if you were to open the system it is gone in a matter of a few seconds. also, 134a is a controlled substance which is damaging to the environment, which is why to handle it, your shop has to be specially equipped and specially trained. you must have a complete recovery system, and if a shop is caught just letting freon just release into the atmosphere, they woudl face MASSIVE fines from the EPA. what you are describing will NEVER happen for just that reason..the car would be illegal in the US, and elsewhere. as well as being illegal, this would not just "instantly add 50hp"...its not nitrous.
