Saleen n20 Focus

RE: Saleen n20 Focus
I'm not a fan of any ford car. The only ford vehicle I'd buy would be a truck, and thats if they stopped making the Cummins Turbo Diesel Rams.
That focus is extremely slow for the price they're asking for it. Its almost embarassing that theyd consider calling it a Saleen. I mean come on 152bhp and 155lb-feet? Kind of sad really. Its got a gargantuan wing on the top of the hatch that has really no bearing of usefulness on the car whatsoever.
Rear drum brakes and no ABS as a standard option? Thats pretty ghey too.
Some other specs....it runs a 15.8 second quarter mile at 87 mph. Scoots from 0-60 (if you can even call it scooting) in 7.4 seconds....yeahhhh nuff said on that one. Even using nitrous its slow. Running a 14.0/96mph quarter and a 5.8 second 0-60. STILL not impressive AT ALL for having nitrous and the price tag that it has.
Youd be better off buying a base model Focus Hatch and turboing it with the extra cash, itd be a helluva lot faster.
And for a base price of 24,399....I think I can definitely find a better way to spent close to 30,000 dollars.
Again sad that its called a Saleen. And its nowhere NEAR a match for the SRT-4.

Just found this, had to add it in. Quoted from Saleen's website. If anything what I marked in bold best describes the SRT-4, not that matchbox car.
The N20 Focus is an exciting, new edition to the Saleen line-up. It is THE answer to those performance-minded buyers seeking an eye-catching compact car packing tremendous performance at an amazingly affordable price. It delivers agile, nimble performance combined with distinctive European rally car styling, along with a flexible and spacious interior for friends and “gear.†It is the only nitrous-compatible car offered in the marketplace.
This Saleen-proven nitrous system offers performance assurance
over aftermarket “bolt on†kits.

I heard that once you hook the n2o system up, it then void all warranties on the engine. So basically if you puchase that car and want warranites you might as well just buy the SVT, b/c you will just be drive a 152 Hp Focus with a n2o system that is not even being used. Still even if the n20 system is hooked up the SRT-4 will smoke that FORDs @$$. That car gets a big ol' thumbs down from me.

After working in the Detroit automotive scene for the last 20 years, and having owned vehicles from each of the big 3, I can say Ford is unequivocally the best quality vehicle for the money. Don't tell me about your counsins' friend who's grandma had the tranny fall out of her '93 Taurus. Any company can produce a lemon, especially after a 40 oz. lunch and a doobie on a Friday afternoon.
Also, just because you own a Dodge or a Subaru or a freakin' Lancia for cryin out loud, doesn't mean that your car is better of worse that any other. Just the other day I was cruising around during lunch (looking for a race) and got my *** handed to me by a Passat. Don't start on the "you don't know how to drive ****" I was flogging Dodge turbos while some of you were still, no doubt, eating month old Cheerios off of the kitchen floor. The point is, I wish the guy would have stopped, it would have been cool to see what he had done to put together such a nice running car, and certainly learn something in the process.
So, some of you please grow up and open your eyes. There's always someone faster, smarter and more experienced.
End of sermon
