where is the blow off valve
It will also have a pink plastic hose attached to the surge valve as well. I have had my Mopar BOV for over a year and it's as strong as ever with no leaks. If you get the Mopar BOV you should also get a tube of the Permatex Hylomar Gasket Dressing and Flange Sealant, this is probably why mine is fine while others have leaks. Make sure you put a thin coat of it on both sides of the gasket only (do not put it on anything other than the gasket itself), mainly where it contacts the blue BOV plate and the turbo housing. This should result in a leak free BOV.
Mopar BOV, here. and no dressing. Just the gasket and the right torque. It has been on for more than 10 months, never touched since, and I was spiking 20 and holding 17-18 to redline yesterday in hte heat. The thing definitely does not leak if you install it right. The factory s3r car is running the blow off conversion, and I am sure if it holds for stage 3 on their car. It is a well- designed piece, and I personally don't see the merit in spending another 200$ on a aftermarket bov unless you want a different sound. I will probably do hard pipes for performance, but not for a bov, myself.
I'm thinking another source of the Mopar BOV leak claims are from overtightening when it is bolted back together. The purge valve's flange is fairly thin and if overtightened it could bend and bow causing gaps where the rubber diaphrams seal may leak at higher boost pressures. This would also explain why the aftermarket BOV's are the solution for some since it uses a block off plate that eliminates the purge valve all together, thus eliminating the leak. I would bet money on it that it's overtightened and bent purge valve flanges that are the cause of the alleged Mopar BOV leaks.
